Monster energy drinks while pregnant??

Monster energy drinks while pregnant??

Has anyone ever drank energy drinks while pregnant? Obviously not everyday but every once in a while? I don't drink any caffeine right now besides maybe a Pepsi every now and then. I'm 7w5d and having horrible insomnia I haven't slept more than 3 or 4 hours in weeks. Just wondering if it'd be okay to drink one??

I'm going to have one then! I used to drink up to 3 a day before the pregnancy but I've been too scared to drink one since I found out.

I'd be very careful with energy drinks. Current guidelines recommend staying under 200mg of caffeine daily, so you need to be mindful of how much is in your particular version as well as what you're consuming from other sources. While there are always going to be people who said they did it and everything was fine, it just isn't worth the risk to me.

I'll second the 200mg recommendation, I think a monster drink has much more than 200

Also watch how much b6/b12 is in it. Some of those have massive amounts of those vitamins in them.

I was thinking about maybe just drinking half of one but it worries me too much! I'll just stick with some coffee

I personally wouldn't drink them

I wouldn't drink one not pregnant and I especially wouldn't drink one pregnant. I just think there's so much crap in them. A nice ol cup of coffee will do then at least you know exactly what you're putting into your body ❤️❤️

The tiredness usually eases up after the first trimester. I also have been told to stay under 200mg a day. Hang in there! Your energy will pick up in a few weeks.

I have the white rockstar its sugar free and it's only 160mg. I only drink half of it so I'm way under the 200 mg.

Considering they have been linked to cardiac arrest in adults and children I would say that's a no for me. Drink more water and have some coffee.

If you're having trouble sleeping you can take unisom. Helps fight the morning sickness too. Made my life so much easier when I was pregnant with my first!

Risk verse benefit. Energy drink have triple the amount of caffeine and ingredients not good for baby. Also high caffeine blocks folic acid the increases risks to the baby's spine.

Pregnancy is not fun especially with the insomnia

I'm doing a lot of research on this atm.. so far, in an Absolute Zero Monster there's 140mg of caffeine in one can. It contains Guarana, which is like caffeine you find in coffee, on crack (it's from a different plant) lol HOWEVER, the can states that the 140mg of caffeine is from ALL sources in the ingredients. Which means the caffeine and the caffeine from the Guarana extract are included. Also, since it's "absolute zero" there's no sugar. Everything else in it is a natural vitamin. (B vitamins, taurine, etc.) ?

Do you think it’s safe to drink Red Bull while pregnant? I don’t drink coffee or any other energy drinks. So this would basically be the one && only. *Update* Well I never drink energy drinks. Or coffee. We were in the car && my fiancé had a new flavor. I was like I want to try it, take a few big gulps, saw the label && panicked. I’m wasn’t sure before that if I’m not supposed to have any. So I asked a few friends && made a post in here. I was wondering about that’s all ...
