Aw dang it
I’ve been doing LPN pre requisites to transfer to a bridge program in the fall. I just got notified today that the bridge program isn’t being offered anymore. There aren’t any other “working” programs like this. It was designed to bridge medical assistants who work to LPN. I’m super bummed now. I can’t stop working to go to school, so I have to wait and see if something else like this is offered again. ??
Where are you located OP? I’m seeing nursing programs pop up everywhere. I am take pathophysiology right now in preparation for a full time program that starts in May. And with these programs, you really can’t work. They tell you when your classes and clinicals are- and you have no say.
At this time, my job is more important than school. I’m going to kept taking my pre reqs and try to find a different program.
Oh no! Where I go my school alone has an LPN an RN program. Also there's a BSN program 15 miles from there.
If becoming an LPN is something you truly want there's always a way to achieve that. It may not be the most desirable at the moment but in the end it will be well worth it. At times I struggle with the stress of working full time and being in school full time. You can do whatever you set your mind too.
Yes, but are you in a nursing program or completing your AA?
@thewife- I’m not taking classes for an associates. Those have flexible hours and can be done around work. I work as an MA, so my schedule is set and not really flexible. Nursing programs are almost entirely banker’s hours, so I cannot work my job and go to a traditional nursing program. I also cannot quit my job, which is my predicament.
@wishing covered it, I think. Plus, a bridge utilizes your previous education and reduces the courses you need to take. 9 months of a bridge vs 21 mo the of a part time program is a big difference.
Nursing programs are generally a full 40+ hour week of school and clinicals, M-F, which makes working a full time job basically impossible. Bridge programs are often less time consuming but take longer to complete, they are a bridge for those of us who have to work FT but are also attending school.
I don’t know if that’s possible. The courses are part of a bridge program, so they are specific.
I wonder if there was low enrollment, or the ones enrolled aren’t doing well. All they told me was they weren’t offering it again.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
TWW!!
2dpo and on the tww journey. Anyone on the same dpo or close? Haven't decided if I will test at 12dpo or just wait and see if she shows up!!
WA state. There are tons of traditional nursing programs, but this bridge was going to be my saving grace. It was 2 evenings + all day Fridays for 3 semesters. I’ll find something someday, but right now, I’m thankful I have a job in the medical field already, and my employer reimburses school costs.
