Hardest part of being a mom

Hardest part of being a mom

I want to say the hardest part of being a mom is knowing wether or not you're making the right decision for your child. I feel so confused sometimes. What do y'all think is the hardest part?

I agree with you, never being positive if you're making the right decisions. Especially if there are people telling you to do otherwise.

I think the hardest part is definitely patience. Unfortunately its something that I'm struggling with ?

Patience & lack of sleep are the biggest ones.

I will also add stepping outta my comfort zone. My LO is 20 months old and is soooooooo active. I've always been an indoor type of person but my LO looooooves being outside (which I hate) So, I've been making more of an effort to gather as much energy (between working and being a full time student) as I can to actively play with him outside or take him places where he can have fun.

For me the hardest part is finding the happy medium between letting my ds be a kid but also wanting to be firm and give him structure at the same time.

For me it's discipline, I'm extremely sensitive and soft hearted, when my kids cry, I cry. Which makes it hard to be stern or consistent with punishments and reprimanding them. I'm so scared I'll create little people who don't follow rules, but at the same time I'm terrified of scarring them for life

Right now the worst part to me is the back pain, it hurts so bad I just wanna cry. ? just thinking about how I'm gonna have to carry my big baby boy tmw makes me depressed...

I second , patience .

Patience

The hardest part for me is when they get sick or hurt and there's nothing I can do to fix how they feel. It kills me. I just want to fix it immediately but I can't.

Patience. Its hard not to have a short fuse sometimes. Its in those moments that you really have to clear your head and breathe

Keeping the trust and comunication open. I have raised my kids to be open honest and as a friend. Now that 4th grade is the start of crushes and preteen conversations it's getting a lil difficult to keep my cool

Yep, MOM guilt is for real & I struggle with it every single day.

I enjoy dd so much but terrible 2 is really kicking my butt the constant CRYING ! And whinning really grinds my gears I have a true cry baby on my hands

Definitely keeping my cool. With two kids 15 months apart they really test me. Every.faking.day. ?

The hardest part for me is the mom guilt. I'm constantly worried I'm doing something to psychologically hurt my kids. Probably thanks to having a psychologist father who was always very concerned about our feelings etc, I now worry about it ALL THE TIME.

For example, if I tell the kids we'll take a walk and then circumstances make it so we have to go another day, will they never trust me again because I went against my word!?!?!?

Mom guilt. The struggle is SO real. ?

Being present, in-the-moment, with my DD is my hardest. I'll find myself researching choices I know are upcoming; or planning weeks or months (or even years) in advance.

I have anxiety, and sometimes plan so far beyond what is necessary. I just need to breath and BE PRESENT.

The worry. I remember telling a friend I could not wait for my pregnancy to end so I could stop being scared I could lose my DD. My friend chuckled and said, oh honey that never goes away. Welcome to parenthood, you will always worry about your child's safety, the hazards may change but your worry will never end.

I also worry about my ability to balance my work and my time with DD.

Definitely being able to let go. Trying to make all the right choices and knowing sometimes you will screw up. I just want to protect them forever.

deleted-user

The biggest is definitely what you said OP. I'm always concerned about the way I'm approaching things.

The other would be the constant mothers guilt I feel.

Some days it's very overwhelming trying to balance things.

I'm 35 weeks pregnant and the other day I burst into tears because I couldn't find my 2 year olds flip flops that he REALLY wanted to wear, so therefore in my insanely hormonal mind that meant I wasn't a good enough Mom because I couldn't do something as simple as finding a shoe.

Self care is tough to do, but I've found its absolutely necessary to survive these things.

Regulating emotions. You don't always get to be angry even when you are

deleted-user

Lack of sleep. Because with that I have less patience, I don't have as much energy to play, and all I want is to lay on the couch ?

deleted-user

Sticking up the blackout blind with those sucker things that NEVER STICK. ?

The hardest part for me is the balance between working and being a mom. There are times that I'm barely home working doubles, and then times when I am home, it is difficult because I am so exhausted. I just hope that my son doesn't grow up thinking that I was just MIA.

Hardest part for me is letting go. My son is a year in half and I haven't left his sight. He goes everywhere with me and nobody is allowed to watch him besides me and SO his father. I have attachment issues...

Everything ? But I love, cherish and learn from every moment of it ❤️

I agree with you op.

There's so many opinions and answers and facts that it's hard to know if the decision is the right one.

deleted-user

deleted-user

Same as you op. I wonder if I'm making the right choices and am guiding her correctly.

deleted-user

I agree with your answer, op. I constantly wonder if I am making the best decisions concerning my children.

The doctors. We see Some type of doctor weekly for at least one of my kids. It gets tiring emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Advocating. Getting through whatever is needed, especially when they don't want to.

Convincing my kids im not torturing them when it's not therapies or talking appointments.

Awh I can't even imagine that yet, my son is just 3 months old. That alone makes me cry ???

I think the hardest part is learning how to let go as the continue to grow up. My oldest starts kindergarten this fall and I already cry when I think about it ?
