er worthy or wait??
My dd has been sick for the past four days. She has a bad cold. Her temp keeps fluctuating between 99 and 101. She can't keep anything down except water and some milk. This morning she ate two pieces of cereal and they came back up within seconds of eating them. She has a Dr appt on Thursday. I'm so worried though. Should I take her to the hospital since she can't keep anything (solid wise) down? Or do I wait and keep her hydrated until Thursday?

I'd just keep her hydrated until the doctor. Make sure she's still peeing enough. Like a diaper every four hours or something? Idr, but that's about how often my almost three year old goes potty. Otherwise, 99-101 isn't that bad. If she gets lethargic or stops drinking altogether, ER. If she's feeling like she's in pain, like a headache or something, give her some Tylenol.

At her age they won't consider the temp an issue if she's staying hydrated there isn't much the er can do

Agree with what @Lovebabykhy said. But if it would make you feel better, you could call her doctor tomorrow and request and earlier walk in appointment.

Thank you ladies. I called today and the earliest appt they had was Thursday at 230pm. I will take her in if she gets worse. Right now its at 99.3 and she is watching spongebob. She is not all happy and playful like usual. She looks tired and exhausted. ?

Sickness can be such a grey area for which treatment to seek.
Me personally.
If she is keeping well hydrated, good breathing, still responsive, easily calmed and aroused, and not losing weight drastically, I wouldn't do an er.
But you are seeing your baby. Know what's better for her than I do.

What else does she drink besides water and milk? Maybe offer just water, pedialyte or watered down juice to drink and hold off on milk. The milk could perhaps be aggravating her tummy which causes her to throw up food when she has it. She could have a stomach bug as well. Is she having any diarrhea?
I think once her stomach settles down she'll eventually be able to eat something. As long as she's drinking, and having enough wet diapers (every 4 hours) throughout the day then I would hold off on the ER.
When my daughter had a stomach bug she didn't want to eat either. She also didn't feel like playing either simply because she probably felt weak from not having any food in her system and from the vomiting she did.
It wasn't until 2-3 days later when she eventually was able to keep something down. Even then I started slow and only gave her a small amount at first to see if she would be able to keep it down. And when an hour has passed then I eventually gave her more and increased the amount throughout the day.
She eventually started feeling better once she was able to have some food in her system.

I normally don't give juice. Just water and milk. She doesn't have diarrhea. She's only kept down the liquids in 4days! Iv offered solids everyday but she refuses and this morning I was pretty happy when she took the cereal. But she cried while eating the first piece. Then threw up on the second piece. My poor baby. I'm sad with her.
