Being that I am a stylist, I'm planning on having lots of fun with my kids hair, but probably not till they are 10.

It's just hair it grows. As long as it's done by a professional so that there are no bad accidents I don't mind it

If they have blonde hair, it might've just been a temporary dye. I've seen it done with kool-aid. I would let my middle/high school daughter get her hair highlighted, but not completely changed.

Me not until high school. Hair chalk prior for events. Let their hair mature and they learn proper hair care. Before we add in dye care.

Most of those colors wash out fairly quick, they're not harsh chemicals.

I was 8 when I got highlights for the first time for a school function. If my daughter at 5 or 6 tells me she wants an odd coloured hair I will use a wash out dye. It is a light brown but I will not bleach her hair till she is 16 where it will be done professionally.

My mum had to get my hair coloured a lot when i was younger. I am naturally ginger and my eyebrows and eyelashes were dark brown so they were alright. I cant remember what age i was but i know i was young. I point blank refused to go to school because i was bullied because of my hair colour. She got it done professionally im sure it was some type of henna dye. I kept up the dark hair until a few years back when i had a crazy streak and dyed my hair every colour under the sun. They washed out though and im back to dark hair. For the amount of time my hair has been getting dyed you would think its dead but i love my hair it is very healthy.

12-13 I think I'd allow it. I believe in self expression. I dyed my hair bright colors. But I think we'll start with simple highlights

I'll allow it in middle school. I got all the weird colors out of my system before I got out of high school. Then I started looking more "normal" after I damaged my hair. I would rather have them do it in their teenage years as opposed to adulthood.

I'm adding a teal streak, just one, to my daughters hair tomorrow. It's just semi permanent and I don't mind at all. She's 8.

If she wants a fun color that's direct deposit, I'll let her choose what she wants her hair to look like regardless of age.

I don't think little kids should be coloring their hair. But I would let mine do it after 10 probably. I've been coloring my hair since I was 11 and its always been an important form of expression to me.

Never. Dd has the most beautiful red hair. The most that she can ever do is in high school maybe I will let her get blonde highlights. Until then, she can wait until she moves out

I will let my daughter do something reasonable around 13. I'm not going for a head full of bright pink hair or anything. But, if she wants some highlights or a little bit of a fun color or something I won't be difficult about it.

Those bright colors don't damage hair. It deposits color and shouldn't affect the integrity of the hair. I started dying my hair when I was 14 I've had pink, blue, purple, green, and fire engine red. If my daughter want to do something to her hair and her school allows it, then she is free to colour her hair. I won't allow bleaching because that can be quite damaging but other than that, she'll be able to dye her hair any colour at pretty much any age.

I believe I was in 6th grade when I started dying my hair. And my brother was even younger when I bleached his hair and dyed the tips bright blue lol in my opinion it's just hair, it'll grow back. I pretty much have a good grasp on what I am doing and I don't use harsh chemicals (I've learned so much since then lol) so I don't have a problem with self expression in the form of hair color.

I wasn't allowed to do mine until high school which is probably what we will do with our daughters. I think 3 is way too young. I'm having issues coming to terms with my daughter wanting her hair cut short like mine. She's 3 in May and I haven't even cut her hair yet

I won't let mine dye their hair until 16. It destroys hair. I've watched my friends' hair be destroyed from it. If she wants to after 16 and has saved up money for it or has a job then sure.

My mum let me have highlights from around 7-8 years old, then let me have semi-permanent colours (red) at 12. I started using permanent dyes at 14, when I dyed it black. I then started bleaching my own hair and having unnatural colours at 16, where I went green.

I'm pretty relaxed about hair dye, so long as they're safe & sensible about it, they can do as they please.
