Need advice
So dd is a little over 2yr old and both her pedi and dentist said it’s time to start taking away the paci. Well it’s been hell! If she doesn’t have it she cries and she will knot and tangle her hair up in her sleep because it’s her way of soothing. She wakes up with big rats nests that I have to comb out and sometimes cut. She will also chew on her clothes if she doesn’t have it and put small teeth holes in them. Has anyone else had a hard time taking away a paci and anything you did to help?
When my dd was getting too old for her pacifier we gathered up all of her pacifiers and left them out for the pacifier fairy to come and take to give to the new babies who really needed them. The pacifier fairy left her a gift thanking her for giving away her pacifiers. It worked like a charm. My dd was so excited that the fairy came and brought her a gift. She didn't ask anymore for her pacifier!
my son was the same, he holds my hair to soothe himself & one day we lost all his pacifiers and he kept asking all night “ wheres my pacifier” he would wake up middle of the night wanting it. everytime he asks where they are i tell him oh spiderman took it, he will bring it tomorrow. ever since then he never took a paci anymore. so maybe whatever your daughter likes be like oh they took it
i haven't had to do this as my kids never liked them but with bottles i was told ires best just to quit cold turkey it confuses them when they can have it sometimes but not others it honestly took us 1 helish night and a second not son great but not terrible night and he was done forever
I work at a daycare and one of the girls started by cutting the tip of the paci for her kid and cut it a little more every night until he didn't want it anymore because it didnt have the suction on it and about after 2 weeks he three it away because it was "broken" and he understood it. Good luck!
Thanks everyone @sincere that’s a good idea with the apple cider vinegar! I think I’ll take all the suggestions and then I like the idea of having the Easter Bunny take it away if it’s not gone by then.
Braid her hair through the phase. Keep it secure with a little rubber hair tie. Keep her in a silky texture night outfit because cotton is easily penetrated. Give her the pacifier but dab a little apple cider vinegar on in.... intrinsic motivation not to taste it again will wean her.
I did the same as Anna. We took it away Christmas Eve night to give to santa for the babies. She understood but the first night there was a lot of screaming. Christmas Day she didn't remember it because we were so busy and now at 4 she doesn't remember ever having one. She had hers in her mouth pretty much 24/7 also
I don't have any advice as far as the hair and clothes chewing, but what we did to wean my ds off his was to cut the very top off of all his pacifiers. I still let him have them, but he didn't like how they felt when I cut them. He gave up on them after about 2 days and hasn't asked for one since.
I have no advice. My dd was 3 when we took hers away and she was able to understand a lot better. She had maybe one rough night but she transitioned well after that first night. I just kept reminding her she’s a big girl and she needed to pass it along to another baby who needs it.
I haven’t completely cut her off from it because it’s been rough. I’ve been giving in at bedtime and letting her have it. She does have a blanket that she uses as well to help soothe her.
No advice but I'm following. My DD is only 11 months she never really a paci but ever since she stopped drinking formula, she looks for her paci more. I'm dreading she'll get attached. Have you tried a luvy.? My DD has a little elephant luvy. That helps her fall asleep. She plays with the little nose until she falls asleep.
need suggestions....
So at work we have a drink thief. Any time we put a drink in the fridge it disappears. I swear I know who it is. So far he's taken drinks from everyone that works in the office, we even put a sign to not take anything you didn't pay for and wrote our names on the drinks. The person I think is taking them works out of the office so we never get to see who is drinking them.

IUI Monday!!
So today I went in for my routine bloodwork and ultrasound, and found out that I have three follicles at 17mm! Plus another two at 15mm. When leaving the clinic my FS said to take another dose of gonal-f and come back tomorrow to check to see how big they got and that we would do the iui on Wednesday. Well, after getting home, taking my gonal-f and going out to shovel snow (lol) I get a call saying that I am SURGING!!! I haven't ovulated on my own, or even come close to it in years...
Religion Conspiracy/Theory
**This is not to bash peoples religion and beliefs but to talk about our own theories and ideas** I would like to discuss a certain topic that came to mind after talking to my SO. I know some of you ladies like a good conspiracy talk so i would like to have a good discussion and hear thoughts of others. So back story my SO friends got very offended when he mentioned not believing in god or religion and it got me thinking. Is religion a failing form of goverment cont...
