solid foods
Ok. I'm going to preface this by saying... I know that they recommend 6 months to start solids, because of open gut and whatnot. I've done my research so I know why to wait. But... My baby will be 6 months on the 30th. She can sit on her own, she does chewing motions with her mouth, while we are eating, can bring things to her mouth, can grab with her hands. She's literally showing all the signs of readiness and interest. Will it hurt my baby if I go ahead and start her on avacado or sweet potato, or is it best to wait the 2 weeks more?
Just wanted to say I have had 3 children and I have never heard food before one is just for fun my eldest is 8 the only thing I have heard is anywhere between 4 & 6 months and they show cue signs is when u start just saying it has been the same for 8 years and that hasn't changed i have seen numerous different health nurses and have a midwife for a cousin ?
We taste tested avacado last week too. It's so much fun.
^My husband said to wait just so it's not an extra thing we worry with on Thanksgiving, going to 3 places and keeping up with food. We will just give her a bite here and there. I doubt it will hurt her though. I was on solids at 4 months old and whole milk at 6, and I'm healthy as a horse and I'm allergic to nothing. Doesn't mean the same for her, I know...
But again, thank you all for your advice and input. Dinner is sweet potato and I may let her taste . :) and start regular at 6 months!
Thanks mamas! I'm just "scared" to mess her up but I know she's ready! Thank you! I feel better about starting knowing other mamas agree and think she'll be ok to start. Love yall!
You are totally good to start... You know baby best.. And don't worry about others opinions .... The only one that matters is yours!!!! My son will be 5months on the 17th and he has been having cereal for almost 2 weeks now...And today he started avocado! I wanted to wait to 6 months but our pediatrician (who also said to follow what I thought was best) said that at the recommended 6 month is actually going back to earlier start.. That they want you start BY 6 months but not before 4! Follow your gut and your heart... Your baby will be perfect no matter what!
Is say go for it. I have also started my baby on solids and she is only 4 1/2 months. Yes earlier than recommended but she was also showing signs, and in the first couple of days she was only getting about a teaspoon anyway. Now the loves it, and I only give once a day and still only a few teaspoons to get her tummy used to it :)

is it wrong to be frustrated that my daughter acts like she can't do certain things with out my help. she plays dumb a lot and I wish I could be like no girl show what you know. she acts like she can't trace or match shapes so shes ask for "mommy finger" to help her so I barely hold her hand and she magically can do it but if I dont hold her hand she just scribbles and acts like she doesnt know
the pic is how she traces when I'm "helping her" otherwise it'll just be scribbles all over the page
TWW!!
2dpo and on the tww journey. Anyone on the same dpo or close? Haven't decided if I will test at 12dpo or just wait and see if she shows up!!
shaking a baby?!
So this girl I know had a baby girl a few months before me. The baby is 8-9 months. Well she was over at my bff house and the baby was crying and she went into the room and shook her and yelled at her to go to sleep!!! My bff started yelling at her to take care of her child. She said but she needs to go to sleep I want yo watch this movie! And my bff told her to get out of the room and she put baby girl to sleep. She goes to the living room. She is not watching a movie but is ...
Should I let my x know when labor starts
I just absolutely love some women on here! Some woman wants to write on another women's post telling her she shouldn't be having sex at all in the beginning of pregnancy. I didn't know she was her doctor. Then she wants to tell me that the first trimester is only 1-9 weeks pregnant. And she lost her baby at 4 weeks pregnant due to sex. Like sweetie that's your period starting!
Both of my kids were started on solids before 6 months. My oldest is 4 and has had no issues. My youngest tolerates them well. I don't think it'll hurt if she's showing all the signs.
