2 Year Old Birthday

Ideas? Worth a party? We had a party for her 1st at the house. I don't want to do that again. My family is huge and it was a lot of work (and money for all the food). Her birthday is in Jan so outdoor locations are out. Is it even worth it? I don't have any money really due to the separation. Should we book a location? Or just skip it? Ideas? Thoughts?

We rented a room for free at a pizza place last year and we are doing the same this year. I was able to just order some pizzas and set them out buffet style. They let us decorate and bring in cake. It was nice because I didn't have to deal with any of the clean up.

I wouldn't skip it. I'm in a blended family and we do separate parties but their is bad blood between my husbands ex-wife and his family. I don't see why you couldn't have a combined party if it wouldn't upset you or make you extremely uncomfortable.

Maybe that way her dad/his family could pitch in with the cost of food and such?

Or a potluck? That's what we usually do in my family. Everyone brings a dish or beverage.

I'd book some pLace cheap.. We have a family fun center nearby that has tons of blowup toys for kids. It has rooms for parties so you can just bring a cake and snacks and drinks!

My sons friend just had a party at Stevie B's for about $5 a kid. Adults paid for themselves. It included their buffet, a drink and tokens for each kid. Is there something like that in your area that you would consider?

Sorry I'm being one of those annoying posters with a rebuttal/excuse for every suggestion, lol. It's just not an easy situation for me right now. I'll look into Chuck E Cheese, I hadn't considered that. I have a membership at the local children's museum and their prices are too high for the number of people I would have.

Lindsey that's a good idea except my family is a two hour drive away. I could have it at my parents I guess. But then that cuts out her dad and his family, unless they want to drive that far.

Oh and the Saturday after her birthday (which is on a Thur) is his weekend with her.

I agree with Chuck E Cheese. You can bring your own cake/cupcakes. Print out tons of coupons. Everyone can buy their own tokens.

Move everything out the living room and make homemade games yourself. Pick a theme. My best friend had celebrity themed party for her baby & it was really all fun. Also maybe you should order little Caesars pizza or something & instead of giving gifts to your daughter people could pitch in with the cost of food.

Oh and her dad and I are separated. So there's that to deal with too. A party together? Separate? I just don't know what to do.

I don't want everybody at the house again. That's all I know.

Ugh. That's a lot of folks.

Do your parents or any siblings feel like using their home for the party? Does anyone have a bigger house?

Pp my "immediate" family is about 30 people...

I'm the youngest of 6. Each siblings has 1 - 5 kids.

So... Yeah.

I'm having each family member bring something to eat and I'm buying a cake. My dd is 2 in January too!

Thoughts on waiting another year to start daughter in preschool.

Thoughts on waiting another year to start daughter in preschool. Our district doesn’t have a spot at the moment. So we have to find a preschool ourselves. We applied to Headstart but we make too much money so lower income families get first spots. But both districts have her at the top of their waiting list above others because she needs/receives speech therapy therefore they want the grant money that comes along with her being enrolled. It’s just so frustrating. I feel that worth Covid we know nothing of what’s going on and I still don’t have a school for her at this point. But she could also benefit of waiting another year but it would also benefit her to go. I just don’t want to send her to school if it’s going to be super restrictive because of Ohio’s guidelines set for Covid. Am I wrong or selfish?! Also I fear then her brother and her will be in the same grade if I wait to send her. Which isn’t terrible but I feel comes with it’s own set of problems.
