Laura - I did get a basket for her! And she will enjoy the pacifiers in it I'm sure :) Also got her an outfit, hat, and a stuffed mommy & baby chick. Wasn't planning on it until I read that post but decided to after all, and now I'm excited about it. You are right in that it's more for us than them. But I figured if I always get the cat a Christmas present I can get the baby an Easter basket :)

I just asked my husband yesterday if we were weird cause we weren't doing the easter bunny thing. Apparently not! Not only do the germs freak me out but most of them are creepy! We aren't doing the basket thing either as she would have no clue. Plus she just doesn't need that much stuff at 3 months old.

To each their own of course and I'm glad everyone has someone to relate to, whatever their opinion is.

The guy at Walmart that was dressed as the Easter Bunny was the guy that works in the photo lab. Really nice guy. I'm sure he wasn't too thrilled about having to dress in a bunny suit but that was his job for the day. I agree with Miranda, it was harmless & cute. I was always too scared too lol. LOL!! Most of these posts really made me laugh! Lgrush, I'm not doing it for the same reason I decided against an Easter basket. What did you decide about that? DS will not know what's going on and I feel like it will be more for us than him.

However, I'm not saying that I think it's bad or wrong for other people (there has been lots of heated posts lately and I'm not judging!), we're just way too lazy to do it. I'll admit to being lazy. And I hate going to the mall and dh really hates going to the mall.

I am not taking my lo not because of germs but because all the Easter bunnies look so freaking creepy! Lol

I had fun taking Easton to see the bunny. I never got to go as a child, my mom says I was scared. I think pictures like that are cute. I honestly never thought of the germs but now when it comes to Santa. Noo way, unless I know the guy. I'm with Abby that they creep me out. But I had a friend who did the bunny thing for extra cash in college so I guess that's why it set my mind at ease. P.S. I'm a Christian & I agree that holidays are quite commercialized but pictures like that are harmless and cute. When he is old enough I plan on having Easton write a letter to Santa &&&& write a letter to Jesus telling him happy birthday and thank him for all the blessings in his life.

abbyrochelle... I am the same way... pedophiles dream career for sure. I have seen way to many photos of crying and screaming kids to do it to mine. the germs are secondary for me, but still, no bunny in this house either. ;)

I don't keep her in a bubble. And I know she needs to build immunity. But she started daycare this week so I'm sure she'll be around plenty of germs. And I've been taking her in public since she was a month old. But the bunny holds SOOO many kids and I'm sure it's never washed. Keeping in a bubble and trying to avoid really germy things are different.

I don't think I'll ever take my daughter to do photos like that at this age. It's just a few too many germs for me. I take her in public but 90% of the time she's completely covered because I'm bf or she's asleep. I'm not overly cautious because she needs to build an immune system but I try not to over expose either.

I agree with Jessica, gotta build up their immune systems! I don't let my lo eat dirt or anything, but I can't be freaked out of her being in public because her body has to start getting used to it.

As for the bunny and Santa, it's nothing more than cute. I won't get all religious on anyone but my kids always get pics done for holidays. No knock to anyone that doesn't, it's all a matter of personal opinion. I won't judge if you won't. :)

I agree with Jessica you can't keep em in a bubble :/ but I understand where you're coming from. I refuse to take my dd out before her shots and now since she has them I feel a lil more at ease. I think if she has her shots and I sat with my dd in the pic and actually had my arms around her and it literally was 5.5 seconds. But it's your baby your perspective!

I'm a huge freak when it comes to germs but I had to put that aside. Children who are never exposed to germs always turn out to be the sickest! They need to build up their immune systems. I totally understand where you're coming from though!!!

I thought about it as they were taking the pic. She got a bath the second we got home.

My 4 year old has never seen the Easter bunny but it's not because of germs. I just don't see the point in it. She's always been afraid of live characters like that anyway. I never thought about all the germs, I guess because I knew I wasn't going to take her anyway. She sees santa every year but it's at a Christmas party that my hubby's work hosts for the employees kids and "Santa" is one of his co-workers! I won't be taking my son to see the Easter bunny because he's at our ghetto mall which I refuse to shop at because they pretty much made it clear they don't want my money and he probably is full of germs!

I thought about it while the bunny was holding mine. Then I got a little freaked out. Lol
