Dogs that poo in the house
Dogs that poo in the house
My dad and step-mom were just here for a week (they left last Monday) and have decided to come back to tile my kitchen, bathrooms and laundry room (they live in WA and are driving here so they can bring their tile saw). I'm super grateful because my step-mom is amazing at tiling and its going to be gorgeous....the only problem is they are bringing their dogs and staying with us. Let me preface this by saying I like dogs and I lovely parents (most of the time), but I'm highly allergic to dogs (even my dads yorkies) and I like OTHER people's dogs. I don't ever want to own a dog nor do I want dogs in my house....but my main reason is these dogs poop in the house. As in refuse to go outside and poop... and pee on "puppy training pads" IN the house (pardon me while I gag). It's so gross and I have this horrible premonition of my 2 year old getting a hold of a giant log because my parents are not the most attentive of said pads when they are working....and it's just fing gross....GAG. That's my rant today.

My dogs were all potty pad trained from the time they were 8 weeks up until they had their last round of shots, (about 16 weeks.) Now they all go outside.

They do only go on the pads...but it's still disgusting. They are 12 and 8 and have been treated like humans their whole life and they act like it. Unfortunately if I want my kitchen tiled (for free) I have to deal with the dogs and my fathers ridiculous doting on them. It's just weird to me....especially because they are so neurotic about their house being pristine but let their dogs do their business in the house. I tried many years ago to pay for a trainer and they just gave me the money back and canceled. My sister won't pet sit anymore for them for the same reason.

I have 2 dogs that pee and poop everywhere every single day. Its ridiculous. My bf wont get rid of them. Im 38 weeks pregnant and have to clean the stupid carpet every day.
Put your foot down! It will leave smells if you dont get to it or dont find pee spots in time. Its horrible. I have a taci bell dog so its hard to find her tiny puddles and i didnt know she was peeing in here until the smell started.

The bacteria in animal poop and pee can get people very sick. Especially kids. You should stand up and tell your dad your not gunna risk the health if your family ( especially your LO just because he doesn't want his dogs outside).

I think it's sad that your allergic and haven't even taken thatvinto mind when they invited their dogs to stay at your house!

Can you and your dad compromise ... Maybe set up a fence in your garage they can stay in? Or baby gate off the bedroom your parents will be staying in?
I'd never allow a dog in my home that wasn't trained but between OCD and my home my rules, no one would consider bringing their dog if it wasn't trained

Ugh. Yuck. I am a huge animal lover but dogs are meant to be trained to petty outside. I have a family friend that has like 5 tea cup noodles and never bothered to properly petty train them. She has pee pads in her house, and she claims they are trained to use those but I've never seen it happened. It absolutely disgusts me that people allow their dogs to piss in the house on pee pads. I think our family friend just doesn't want to get up to let them out, so she uses pee pads purely out of laziness. She got out of the bath tub last week and called us up freaking about how she needed us ASAP. We get there and she had slipped in her dogs pee and bruised the cr@p out of her shoulder, arm, elbow, hip. It was horrible. But she still lets them do their business wherever. I like the doggy daycare idea!

Is your yard fenced? Is it warm not too hot for dogs to be outside? Go buy a little xpen and set it up outside make some shade with a blanket on the top and put food and water and toys in it as well as a bed or something for them and they can be outside during the day.. I have chihuahuas the one she was pee pad trained when I got her and i got so annoyed with it I just took them away I can't handle dogs peeing and pooping in my house its disgusting- she learned to go outside she only gets pee pads if she's sick because on the pad is better than my floor and I stick her in the bathroom where that grossness is acceptable

No no no no no no no! I have a dog op she is house trained. Why? Because she is a dog and poddys outside. Do not let those filthy little animals crap in YOUR domain. Don't get me wrong op, i love dogs, mine is awesome. But if they are not trained and allowed to run a muck they are a nightmare.
Anywho, i would tell your father to leave the wee doggies at home.

My little dog is litter box trained lol. When she poops I flush it and clean her box every 3 days.

Oooh :( well then see if they will compromise and keep them in only a portion of your house.

Dogs will poop outside if you wait long enough. Make sure they are taken for a walk 30 mins after they eat and don't let them back in until they do.

No, my dad would flip out. Pretty sure he loves the dogs more then me. They have diamond collars (not fake) for f*** s sake. It's crazy. He carries the littlest one around in his pocket out and about because she will only walk about 600 ft on her own. They are spoiled beyond belief.

Could you tie them up outside for periods of the day?
