So wtf.my daughter is 18 months and her ped said she should be able to say 10 words. My daughter can only say about 4. 🤔
@latina.mama exactly! It made me mad cuz she's still little and is very smart regardless if she can speak or not. I'm sure not all 18 month olds can say 10 words.
@maya......, I would say she’s fine, but you as her mother know what’s best! 😊
I understand the frustration! Just a suggestion, sign language. My mom and grandma are both speech language pathologists, basically working with kids who struggle with speech and language (not to say your daughter has any issues all kids develop at different paces as mentioned previously.) That being said, all kids can benefit from sign language. It builds connections this motion means this. Which is a little easier for some than this sound means this. It can be just 10 basic signs and simple words she doesn't know. Worth a try. I'm starting with my son now in hopes that it can cut down on tantrums when he's older. If he can communicate through signs faster than he learns words less frustration for both of us! If you want to give it a try the signs are fairly simple for you to learn too. Hope this helps!
Macie is the same way. I says more than 4 but no one knows what she is saying expect me. Her doctor isn’t super concerned and neither are her grandparents (both behavior specialist and child psychologists) her dad was a late talker. She clearly understands what we are saying and tries to talk to us. She just can’t figure out the words yet
