Hey ladies I need some advice. I’ve been exclusively breastfeeding my LO since birth he is now almost 6 weeks. From around 3 weeks he started sleeping less and was gassy. So I thought he was a colicky baby and started interventions to help with that. However his symptoms wasn’t quite the same as I noticed he never cried for a stretch of 2 to 3 hours and didn’t sleep much during the day and only slept at night.
So I started doing more research and found out I have milk oversupply/overactive letdown. So I started feeding in a different position and doing block feeding. Which has helped a little as his sleep is a lot better. However he still cries with abdomen pain. The cries are intermittent and doesn’t last for long but it still kills me to see him cry. Do you think introducing formula milk will help?

I'd love to hear how you got on. I have a similar issue, baby is sleeping less and often cries, I was suspecting gas or reflux. She's sometimes fussy while feeding even though I have lot of milk but she can't latch on at times...

@reka.tasnadi don’t worry it’ll soon pass by the time she is 3 months that’s what I’ve been told. My LO is almost 3 months and he is so much butter now. He definitely suffers from gas have to make sure he is burped properly. He is so much more happier and sleeps well too. If she doesn’t latch on properly you should speak to lactation consultant and get help and advice.

It will pass and introducing formula is not guaranteed to make any difference. I toyed with the same ideas during the colicky/purple crying stage. I researched everything under the sun looking for a solution to soothe my lb despite docs assuring me it would pass. In the end we managed to hold out and still exclusive breastfeeding at 9 months and counting. It does get easier but the journey there is not easy. My lb didn’t cry for solid hours but did cry on and off for long periods of time from 6 weeks til maybe 4 months.

it does get better as they get older try pumping out the fore milk and get him drinking the hid milk also avoid cheese and any other dairy. I found with my son ( now 6 months ) that cheese and milk upset him VERY badly and when I took dairy out of my diet he was better, at around 3-4 months he passed wind nicely without crying
