Mini rant: My little girl was born at 32 weeks (1/11/18)...she was born with a hole in her head which they can’t fix until she gets bigger, right now she’s only 2lbs 11.2 ozs. The hospital she’s in had to transfer her to another hospital for a couple days so they could do an mri on her heart...because she’s a baby they needed to put in a breathing tube and sedate her so she didn’t move in the mri machine. They called me for my permission to do the mri and to sedate her...what they didn’t tell me is that they put a freaking iv in her head (is that a common practice for preemies?) i haven’t seen her in a couple days and I walk in to see her like that, I broke down she’s so small and all the tubes I her and the iv make her look so unhappy...1st picture is the iv in her head the 2nd is her with the breathing tube

I know it's scary an frightening to see. The reason they do it is because the veins in the head are the easiest to see because the skin on the scalp is so thin. They also don't have to worry about restricted them to a iv board allowing their arms an legs to be free or for them to be swaddled. Sending prayers an Love to you an your little one. ❤

I’ve seen preemies with the head IV’s- my 29 weeker didn’t have one but I know that’s generally a good go-to spot for a decent vein. I’m sorry your little one is going through all that, but I’m sure she’s in good hands.

So idk if I’m an asshole for thinking this but a girl I used to go to school with is having her 3rd kid and she’s planning a baby shower and she had one with her other two. I feel like a baby shower is something you do with ur first pregnancy. I live far from my family so I didn’t have one but i did have a baby registry and I’m not even doing that with this pregnancy. Idk I just feel like 3 baby showers is a lot! Especially when she gets things handed to her. Idk maybe I’m an ass for thinking that

Babygirl was born at 8:16am this morning. She was breathing really fast, had respiratory distress and they brought her up to the nursery to put her on oxygen and run some tests. I was only able to see her for a couple minutes, but haven't been able to hold her yet. I'm exhausted and trying to rest as much as I can so I have energy for my babygirl when I am able to hold and breastfeed her.

So there was this mother of a 3 year old little boy in Walmart. I could tell she was having a hard time with him not listening. I ended up seeing her with her so and she was crying. I asked her if she was ok and told her we have all had those days. She said he’s going through early intervention but didn’t get into details obviously. I told her she’s doing a job and she’s a great mother. I know I made her feel better. It just nice to help a fellow mother out. To let her know she’s not alone. She was so sweet and so was her so.
