Advice please.
My daughter is going on 3 and still in her crib. We tried once and she screamed bloody murder begging for her bed back so I gave in. She's a crazy sleeper and sleeps in some of the craziest positions I've ever seen. That being said, I know I need to get her out of the crib. Any tips so it won't be harder than it has to be? Besides baby proofing the room anything else I should do? How do I get her to stay in bed? Currently, she plays in her crib for a few minutes before going to sleep.

My son had a loft type bed with a bed rail on it. It was like a crib but with the freedom of a full sized bed. He’ll be 3 in June & we just took the rail of because of him climbing out so much

@_sheriee, the bed rail goes across the whole side so we just lay him with his favorite blanket and animal and he doesn’t get out. He’ll talk/play for a bit but he stays in his bed.

@ameliaann @happymomma. , How do you get them to come to you when they wake and not explore the house? Or should I put a baby gate at the door?

@_sheriee, I don’t. Lmao, he gets up wanting to play 2-3 times a night. So we started to put him to bed later (8 on weeknights bc my daughter has school & they wake up at 6:40) and after 9 on weeknights. My son knows how to pop his baby door lock off & open his door. He doesn’t really roam the house, he comes to our room and asks for milk & I put him back to bed.

Is it really a “thing” if toddlers aren’t thrilled to leave he crib? My 4th and final is 2 1/2 and he has zero interest in leaving the crib...the other three were all trying to climb out at about 1 1/2. But my baby guy isn’t in a hurry and I’ve been okay with that. Is there supposed to be an issue with letting him stay in the crib?

@erinflaherty818 , nope. I feel blessed my daughter hasn't ever tried to climb out. The only reason I'm trying to get her out of it is because we plan on using the crib for my little guy once he outgrows the mini crib he's in which would be in a few months. I figured I'd start with opening up her crib then getting her a new bed before just snatching it away to give to her brother which might create jealousy.
