Ladies with plus 1 year olds how much tv does your little ones watch? I had skylas development review yesterday and they said she's behind with her communication I feel like a crappy mum. They said she should only be watching half an hour a day. Tia x

@sara-lou86 no you're not going on at all. It's nice to hear from someone that actually does this day to day. Thank you I really appreciate it x

Oh Max was well into the black at his 9month check. He was barely doing anything physically. Cut to 3 months later he'd moved on leaps and bounds! Honestly don't worry 😊

Also this goes from emerging, developing to then secure so again the children need time to practise and progress through the stages

This is what communication points we look for at work for a child between 8-20months. Its not much again the age gap is big because they won t all learn this at the same time. I have key children at nearly 20months thay aren't doing all the speech but it's ok. I don't think health visitors take the child as a whole as much as they should. Some are more forward physically and communicate a bit later & visa versa. I have definitely found that with Morgan and Max. Sorry to go on and on. Just winds me up when they worry parents unnecessarily!

@sara-lou86 yeah they made me fill out a questionnaire and they were like for communication she's in the black area it's a cause for concern. I was like woah okay. I just felt so overwhelmed lol and they're doing a home visit next week

@chesscalouise @firsttimemummy86 @sara-lou86 I literally leave it on as background noise or if I'm washing up or whatever just so she's not circling around my legs lol but she will never watch a whole programme she gets bored. And she only likes the songs really and waves to mr tumble. I'm going to make an effort to take her to more stay and plays and they have a talk and play I've been referred to so we will see how that goes ladies x

Health visitors have no knowledge of child development. They have a checklist to go by & we all know children don't follow lists!

Ignore her lol. As long as she's not glued to the telly all day I don't think that would be the cause for any concern. She's very young & I hate they way they expect so much from our little ones. I've worked in child care for 14yrs and we do not expect that much from that age. As long as your making time to play and are talking throughout the day then the rest will happen naturally. If we're having a day at home the tv is on pretty much all day! Mostly just as background noise. The boys come and go. I've never really timed how long. I am very careful of what they watch though lol

when ever I need to get the housework done, the tv goes on lol and health visitors chat bubbles.

Half a hour a day ha that's a bloody joke I leave kids telly on all day in the week as we don't go out much Monday-friday cause of the weather and my partner is the only one that drives they don't watch it all day there playing napping eating ect so I'd say my oldest probably watches about a hour n a half a day but it is on most of the time but she's learnt a lot from it she can name all the tellie tubbies and sing along to the Mr tumble theme song and also has learnt some sign language from Mr tumble xx @mum2sky

@abbiiqx I know. I dno why I let it get to me lol I feel silly. I think it was just in the moment and them writing down all this stuff and telling me she scored low on communication because she can't point and say more words than mum and dad I just felt shit. But thank you for your kind words it really means a lot x

@mum2sky I would honestly take no notice. They go by a book we go by real life. If you feel shes doing well then she is. A lot of children dont start properly communicating until nursery I wouldn't worry yourself. Keep doing what your doing she will be fine xx

mum2sky

Alisha Pomells

@abbiiqx yeah it's little things like she doesn't know how to point yet and stuff like that so they said maybe cut down on the tv. I'm just so lost x

mum2sky

@abbeyc167 thank you hun. I was just shocked I thought she was doing well and then they said that lol x

That's rubbish!! evelyn nd i watch about 2/3 hours a day of something special with Mr tumble and her communication skills are brilliant. She even signs because of that show!! Some babies just take longer to develop there communication skills! My nephew didn't properly start talking til he was 2 and now you can't shut him up lol I wouldn't worry too much hun x you're doing a fantastic job with her

We have TV on all day as background noise, and his tablet too there's no limit in my house. I let him make the decision about what he wants to do but he only really sits down and watches it is when he's having something to eat. Kids learn at different levels, and I can already tell from what you put up that your constantly engaging with her, so don't feel any guilt please! Your a great mom and she's lucky to have you xxxx

Don't take any notice of health visitor. Half of them dont actually have kids. Every child grows and learns at there own pace. I lived at my moms with my little boy so he was very forward. I had my own place by the time my lg was born and shes slower. TV time has nothing to do with it I have cbeebies or nick Jr on majority of the day x

If we're at home I just have cbeebies on in the background but she's not constantly glued to it... So I must be a terrible mother haha

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday…

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?
