I get so nervous as the final week nears, I never had my water break before and worry it might happen. Like, how do I know it's not me just peeing myself. What if it happens when I sneeze or cough, I am so anxious...
@kami24706, quite a bit, I felt it break and then call a nurse in and told her, five minutes after she said yep you rupture I felt another gush. you’ll know when it happens I promise. I was in labor for 20+ hours and after my water broke my baby still wasn’t born for another 5-6hours, but everyone is different.
@kami24706, I was in labor before my water broke. I was actually in active labor for about 10 hours before she broke my water.
@noahs.mommy do contractions start after the water is broken? Or does it usually take awhile afterwards?
If it feels like you peed but it won’t stop no matter what then it’s your water. I had my water broken because of problems and even if she hadn’t told me I would have known because I felt like I had just peed...but it wouldn’t stop and I was just warm 😂
@randie.raye is it usually a lot or a small trickle of fluids? I go to school and work until my due date so I fear it happening when I least expect it at one of the two.
With my first daughter, the Dr broke my water. With my second my water broke while I was pushing. It's a very small percentage of women whose water actual break before contractions start but my in said that if you think you are leaking go lay down for a while, stand up and if it leaks out when you stand up then to go get checked.
