So I was suppose to work a 5-1 last night, I texted my boss 10:30am that I wasn't feeling good and that I had been throwing up all morning. Told her I wouldn't be able to make it in for my shift, she texted me at 2 asking if I got anybody to cover for me but nobody wanted to. I texted her and told her I had been trying since 10am to find someone and I even told her I wouldn't make it in for my shift. Well the schedule was put up today and because of me not working last night she didn't give me any hours for the whole week.. how could you do that. It's not like I could help it.

She can't do that! I'm a manager! u called off 5 hours before ur shift which was enough time for her to find someone if u could not I'll go over her head if I was u especially if u don't call off often

@anthonysmommie072816, I literally gave her all day to find someone else, and she repays me by not giving me any hours the following week. It's so frustrating. I work at a family owned liquor store and she's a drunk and obviously holds things against people. Needless to say I need a new job lol

I know it's the state of California you must give 4 hours notice. I'm sure AZ is the same(ish) and you have plenty of warning. What I would do? First call her and ask to sit down and chat. Ask her calmly if there was a mistake on the scheduling. If she then says anything about you not being dependable (which is bs. I just know how they think..) then just explain to her that people get sick. And, you did you job in giving plenty notice and tried your best to cover your own shift while sick. If after all of this, she still acts like a bitch, then I'd call corporate and write a formal complaint. For all they know, you can a contagious illness and the LAST thing they should want is for you to come in and spread it to other staff and guests. Tell them that the fact that you were punished with no hours only makes you want to come in next time you ARE sick because you're scared now.
