@jodiec, thanks 🙈 the doctor can't fit Charlie in for another two weeks 😤😤 my FIL has some anti bacterial cream from when he had an infection (fresh tube) do you remember what the cream was called that you were prescribed for the little one? This one is called fucidin... x

It was canesten HC but you can use normal caneatan the child friendly one boots sell it and most chemists xx

@jodiec, ah perfect thanks. Think I'll buy some of that rather than using this. No way am I waiting two weeks for a doctor if you can buy it over the counter, poor sod is screaming with every wet/ dirty nappy change 😩 x

I think fucidin works better for eczema and stuff x

@jo.wilcox, yeah just get some from the chemist it's literally this one I got but on prescription and within 2 days it looked a thousand times better xx

I use that fucidine stuff when I get impetigo & I think it's often used for infections. However I wouldn't use anyone else prescription as sometimes they have can have different amounts etc & it may be too strong for a little one. Sometimes they prescribe little ones with liquid antibiotics instead. If 2 weeks is too long I'd call back & demand a phone appointment which you would likely then get called in to be seen. If all else fails exaggerate how had it is. They can't leave a possible infection for 2 weeks that's ridiculous!

@sara-lou86, that's why I hadn't used it yet, I wasn't sure or keen on the idea- mostly an emergency resort. I'm going to buy the canestan tomorrow to help and think I'll take your advice and demand a phone appointment. My doctors is useless, I had to wait a week and a half when Charlie was a week old for suspected thrush. I've stopped using the sudocrem as it seems to be making it worse, using Vaseline ATM so at least when he's weeing the Vaseline acts as a resistant and stops it touching the sores. Just hate to see them in pain it's horrid

My doctors are the same. Every time I've called up for the boys I get told nothing for 2 weeks. I always demand they either fit me in or I get a phone appointment that day then at least I get to speak to a doctor. I've always then been called in later that day. I get they must booked up but I know they have to reserve so many emergency slots. Which some ate used from phone appointments.

Instead of calling for an appoint just call up and ask for the emergency doctor to call you back they will get you in straight away or tell you what to do that's how my doctors work xx
