@morganmommy79, I rock her to sleep with her blanket and when she's mostly asleep I lay her down. And she will finish going to sleep alone

Like you said is easier when they're still young . I get that is hard to see your baby go thru something that makes them cry and be uncomfortable but if it's gonna help in the future then is better to do it . If it doesn't stay revised then at least you can say u tried it .

But whatever you decide just know that you did it for the well of your baby

I'm having a hard time deciding if I'll let them do it again. He doesn't charge to redo it. It's a quick treatment, like a few minutes. My mom and I stepped into waiting room last time while they did it and she wasn't crying afterward, just nursed her and she napped. Got horrible gas/tummy aches for a while afterward. The stretches and rubs to revision site (post treatment protocol) weren't her fav but she got used to them. He said that he'd have to take out more tissue next time back there bc it's pretty thick....I just don't want to put her through it again if it's not going to stay revised. But, I'd feel bad if it caused problems later on and the revision when she's this young is easier to deal with...

Well her pediatrician said it's just something to watch, but they don't have training w ties. Sometimes they're fine to leave alone if they aren't restricted/if they still have good movement. I decided I wanted to get her checked out by someone who is well trained w ties, so I went to a preferred provider (pediatric dentist.) We had a consult then he used a laser to revise the ties. Found out yesterday (3 weeks post treatment) that the back/posterior tongue reattached tho, or maybe it was an incomplete revision. Ties can cause trouble w breastfeeding, eating, speech, swallowing, tooth and gum problems, etc.

@jjessycrunk, I was reading how some babies self soothe and some don't. Yours does with her blanket. My baby needs me to put her to sleep. She won't put herself to sleep With a paci or a blanket. Sometimes I wish she would but I enjoy her either way. Lol 😊😊😊

It's the bands of tissue under the tongue and the band of tissue under the lip, basically they're overgrown. Well she has 4 ties (lip tie, anterior - front tongue, and posterior - back tongue, and buccal/lateral - cheek) and got all but buccal revised w laser 3 wks ago but posterior (back) tongue reattached or was an incomplete revision...so gotta decide if I want to get it redone

That's her blanket. She just put herself to sleep after I changed her diaper. She basically snuggles with it. And I swaddle her in it, i use it in the car seat. That blanket goes everywhere with us

Yeah, any blanket. But my girls have a specific blanket that we choose as their comfort blanket. And they grew up with it.

@green_smilezz, It makes things a bit harder because they cant use it to soothe them when we can't hold them but the good thing is it's one less habit to break.

If they don't like it don't force it. My daughter doesn't like it, so instead we have a blanket to soothe her if anything.

Same here! Ended up with Nuk orthodontic pacis! After trying about 4-5! @green_smilezz,

I tired Dr. Browns, Soothies, Nuk, Mam, Sillinoogie with my son and he hated all of them. My daughter used the mam pacifier.

Z wouldn't take a paci for the first 6 weeks then after 6 weeks when he did take one it would last for 3 days then he wanted nothing to do with it. Even to this day he doesn't use one. My daughter didn't get rid of hers until she was almost 3. Some babes just don't use pacifiers 😩

I found it wasn't necessarily the brand but the shape of them. My daughter ended up liking the orthodontic style nipples by NUK instead of the ones that are shaped to touch the roof of her mouth
