Don’t worry about her. Might it cause issues in the long run? Yup. But you know this as a parent. One of my girls self soothes. She sucks on her finger and has been since she was in the womb (literally have a ultrasound picture with it in her mouth) it is something that I’m currently working on.

One thing I’ve learned as a parent is everybody has something to say. ESPECIALLY those who don’t have children. Lol. Wait until they have them and then watch how things change🤷🏾‍♀️

The hospital gave my son a paci literally to shut him up! I wasn't happy about the circumstance it was under but has been a lifesaver since then. Sometimes when we're out somewhere, he has a full belly, a clean bum and is just being fussy all he wants is his paci and goes straight to sleep and eventually spits it out. It's always women with no children who seem to dish out the most "advice". Wait til she actually has children! It will all change 😂😂😂

My son had a pacifier until he turned 2. His father used it as a plug but I never did and I'm not with his father anymore and that's one of the many reasons why...

I would also like to add, there is evidence of a decreased rate of SIDS in babies who use a pacifier for the first year of life - some people! #geteducatedorgetout 🤔

My son is almost 1 and still uses a pacifier. I’m not sure when I will take it away but I’m hoping by 2. We will see 🤷🏼‍♀️.

I have my newborn a paci in the hospital and he nurse said ‘awww Baby your mom is giving you the fake thing huh? You’re probably so upset’ I started bawling and asked for a new nurse

When I wasn't a mom I said I'd never give one either just because they seemed like a pain in the ass (which they are lol) well I didn't know shit just like that girl apparently. I'm a bad mom because my girl needed one after hours of crying I thought I'd give her a binky, I was desperate. Well what do ya freaking know she instantly stopped crying because sucking was comforting to her. Then I found out it helps with SIDS too. One of my biggest fears at the time.

I had to give my daughter one in the hospital cause they wanted to do the car seat test or whatever she was hungry and they wanted us out so it was either she cry or get the paci I then feed her once the test was over . The nerve of that nurse sometimes it’s all you can do

Some girl on facebook keeps posting about how she "CANT STAND" seeing kids with binkis. Shes always posting something new that bothers her about other kids and parents. The binki one made me mad though. I usually ignore her post but my child takes a binki. So it made me mad. Even when it shouldn't lol he usually has it for bed time then ends up spitting it out when hes asleep. We take it in public on the diaper bag in case he has melt downs we cant help him get over and long road trips. I dont get why other moms or parents in general have to be so judgmental. Nothing other parents do should bother you that much to make a post about it. I dont judge other parenting because if i could say this loud enough THE SAME PARENTING DOESN'T WORK ON ALL CHILDREN. THEY ARE ALL DIFFERENT AND DIFFERENT THINGS WORK.

I was a thumb sucker until I was 9yrs old. I always knew I’d give my kids a pacifier because they’re easier to take away than a thumb lol so as soon as I saw my daughter sucking her thumb in the hospital I gave her a pacifier and I’ll do the same with this baby. Also like a lot of people said the added benefit is that it lowers SIDS risk.

I did not know that pacis help reduce sids. Both my older two took a paci. My ds did until just before two and my dd1 still uses hers for naps and bed. My dd2 does not take one, won't. It's weird. Doesn't use her thumb either

@phoebesmommy, omg so my first never liked a pacifier. My second since the womb always sucked her thumb. When she was born the first thing she did was stick her thumb in her mouth. I made sure to start giving her a pacifier the second she was born but she STILL tried to find her thumb even though she’s almost 3 months old 🤦🏼‍♀️ I hope she doesn’t become a thumb sucker.
