My nearly 4 month old has always been a great sleeper. He normally sleeps from 9/9.30pm till 9am the next day. The past few nights he's been going to bed as usual but waking up at 4am. He isn't screaming he just talks to himself then starts crying for attention. The only way I can get him to sleep is to put his dummy in his mouth and let him hold onto my hand and he only sleeps for 10 mins before waking up again and taking his dummy out. This was repeated so many times this morning and I am exhausted. Any ideas on why this is happening now? 😩
I've recently began having this also. I put it down to sleep regression. However, I learnt that between 3-5 is the coldest time. So I bundled Melody up with another blanket and she stays fast asleep. she's zonked, so maybe worth a try xx
@themessica, @sara-lou, thanks I've read up on it and sounds like what we're experiencing. xx
There's a few sleep regressions but if you stick to your routine it's just a case of riding it out. Both my boys are good sleepers but each regression lasted 2 to 3 weeks.
It's really normal and from what I read its actually to do with the baby's brain development. Give it a read because I found it quite interesting! Hopefully it doesn't last too long and you get back to a normalish sleeping routine soon!! @canteloupe24,
@sara-lou, I hope it doesn't last long 😩 I need sleep to function properly x
As above sounds like the start of his 4month sleep regression. It can go on a few weeks but it is usually just a phase.
@themessica, I've heard of it but don't know much about it. I'll have a read up on it now thanks! 😊 xx
@melodyandme, I'll try that tonight thanks! x
