At how many weeks did you ladies pop your baby's down for either a nap on their own in bedroom or down at night on their own until you went to bed ? Obviously with a monitor x
@zannam, good luck you'll have to let me know how you get on and vice versa xx
I'm planning the same thing with the whole bedtime routine .. I had my little girl in bed with me for a few weeks after she was born, for the past 2 weeks though I've been getting g her back into her crib, now that's her back to sleeping on her own in the crib I'm keen to get a routine going for bedtime! I'll be trying a bath about half 8/9ish and her last bottle which she normally takes round about half 9/10 then it will be through to the bedroom to settle instead of in the same room as us! @hawkie75 xx
@sara-lou, thanks yeah I'm just going to put her to bed after her bottle at 8 or 9 what ever it might be, regardless, put the monitor on and just persevere lol. Hopefully she'll settle in the end. Then eventually i would like her to go to bed around 7.30 at the most xxx thanks for the advice guys x
Max was still feeding 2hrly at that point but once I started a bedtime routine he started sleeping longer & going longer between feeds. With Morgan I always just put him to bed when I thought he was tired. Sometimes that wasnt until 10 or 11! With Max I started putting him to bed at 8pm regardless. After a week he naturally started getting tired & being ready for bed at 8pm. By 2 or 3weeks he was wanting to go to bed at 7pm lol Which is what he's doing now.
@beck_yemm, see I'm keen to get the bedtime routine into practice, we'll see what she does lol it doesn't help that my oh likes to go to bed earlier as he's up really early for work so I'm left downstairs till 11 or 12 waiting to give her her last bottle, cant really go to bed earlier after her 8 or 9 bottle because my son who's 13 doesn't go to bed till 10 so he likes me to be around for him till he goes to bed x
we haven't yet with Harvey he's 11 weeks we tried and he just cried xx so he stays downstairs until we go to bed xx then he sleep 6 hours xx
@sara-lou, yeah that's roughly what I'm expecting, I'm going to try next week, she'll be 7 weeks on Monday, keen to get into more of a routine before Xmas. Only thing is it may be different times every night as she's still going 3 hours between bottles and now and goes 4 so she's still all over her place, but I'll try to get her down somewhere between 7 and 9 I guess x
The first few nights it took about an hour for him to settle. Not necessarily crying just, babbling & moving about. But after about a week he was falling asleep within 10-15mins.
@jodiec, you are very lucky then lol something tells me I'm going to be like a yo yo in and out of the bedroom, I did it years ago with my son so know what to expect but I just couldn't remember at what age lol
She didn't actually but she's always been such a good baby so she never really cries 🙈
@jodiec, @sara-lou great so did you little ones persist at first???
Florence has gone in since 6 weeks 7.30 every night even when she's awake and she so routined now at 11 weeks x
You know you have children when...
You get to work and notice that your pants have smudges of unidentifiable origin from the knee down. ?
Bakers!
When making bread do you HAVE let it double before you punch it down and split it?
