What is everyone's baby drinking at 3 weeks old. Olivia is combination fed and was taking 80 ml every 3 hours from 7-7pm then from the 7-7am it was every 1.5 hours on the same amount. So I stopped giving a ratio of 50/50 breast milk formula from 9pm and give just formula and increased to 100 ml as she was so hungry. Only for her to wake at 1.5-2 hour intervals all night. Guzzling a 100 ml bottle sleeping for. Bit having a small breast feed then napping then wanting a bottle and so on. As she is the only one I've combination fed so young I have no idea how long they go or how much they drink. The sleep deprivation is a killer not to mention that I'm expressing 400-500 ml of breast milk a day round the clock and it's frustrating she sleeps fine from 5-6am onwards and starts to go longer between feeds from then. Can anyone relate ??
@suzie80, I was exclusively pumping all my milk! I wanted to know how much she was drinking, she would have only 1-2 hours between every 4 ounces in the daytime. I've gone back to breastfeeding and just pumping 2x a day to store my extra milk- find she goes longer than when on bottles yet she only feeds for say 15 mins! If I was Gona do it all again, I would just EB and trust that it would get easier and that they get used to it. I give one bottle of formula on last night feed and she sleeps for 8 hours (from 8-9 weeks). My friend used to do 15 mins on boob and then 4 ounces. Up the ounces according to age- she would never finish FF however so she used to waste quite a lot. The group she went to- all the women fed their babies like that, hope that helps somehow. I think your bubba is so young so what she's doing sounds really normal? Unless they're FF, they don't go that long at that age xx
