There isn't one thing that has been proven to cause sids so nobody can tell you if your baby is going to die from it but I can tell you that you should look into both sids. and what smoking actually causes , like low birth weight ect. and that will tell you what you can expect but most babies come out perfectly healthy as long as you aren't smoking some crazy drugs.

Smoking during pregnancy can cause an early delivery, low birth weight, and is a risk factor for SIDS. Death can occur but it's not likely..... some women smoke throughout their pregnancies and have healthy babies but it is definitely not advised because of the possible risks and complications. Talk to your doctor before you quit at this point cold turkey.

My sister smoked heavy through her whole pregnancy and my nephew came out 4 pounds full term. Although he is healthy as can be now (he's 6)

so is it not good to quit cold turkey

I dunno. My cousin was a smoker she said her doctor told her not to because it would cause stress on the baby. But I don't know if that was an excuse or if it's the truth. That's why you should ask your doctor

I have been smoking also through my pregnancy. But everyone thinks I have quit or they don't know that I do smoke. I have cut down on how much I smoke and how often but can't seem to quit but I know I need to.
