@awn0710, I am by no means pissed off. I was simply stating my side of the whole weed debate. I don't get butt hurt when someone says something about smoking weed or not smoking weed. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. It's pretty hard to hurt my feelings and they won't be hurt over someone's post on weed.

@awn0710, oh no definitely. I'm not trying to put words in your mouth or anything. I just felt like people were attacking this girl and people like her is not what I was saying. It's a very beneficial medical drug with little to no bad side effects in the long run, it's proven whether people wanna see that or not. It's just the mentality of people who need to be messed up all the time I don't get. Smoking for morning sickness easing is fine. It works, it's an acceptable medicine in my opinion. But there are others who just take anything they can to be not sober. Those are the kinds I'm talking about. They're not ready to be moms with that mindset.

@marbeffff, I never said use of MJ for medical reason was bad! I simply stated I don't understand why. And then among talking more. I said the little teens. Who get pregnant and still smoke are ridiculous! Medical MJ is a totally different subject then free for all going buy shit on the streets and lighting it up because it's "cool"

I stopped smoking because I didn't need it anymore. But I definitely agree with @ranaeevans if it helped morning sickness and it were still as bad as it was at first for me, i would definitely keep smoking. And I think it is silly to compare weed and heroin. People who say weed is a gateway drug it's kinda silly. That's like saying all alcoholics start out drinking milk... (Which they do.. Yes?) gateway drink lol. Weed is a LOT different than anything else. I just don't get the people who are teens/immature and do drugs for party reasons and have no intention of stopping. That means their maturity is not ready for a baby. Using it medically is totally a different story. And any quotable doctor would agree.

The only reason they are pissed is they know it's wrong. Otherwise they wouldn't get so upset about it!

@gvarra92, absolutely. I haven't even told my mom. I haven't spoke to her since 2 Decembers ago when she showed up at my house and refused to leave! That was my cut off point. I'm sure my nana told her. But I'll never know what she thinks. And she will NEVER see my children for as long as I'm alive!

@awn0710, I know the feeling I told my mom she wasn't aloud to be a part of my babies life since she wasn't in mine and I don't want my children to call her grandma when I can't even call her mom. It sucks. I have 3 way younger siblings I'm not a loud to talk to now since she wants to make me suffer for her choices. but I have to put the hurt behind me and do what I believe is best for my babies.

@renaeevans, but that's the issue. Your baby could be fine. And later on develop issues. Which by then are usually too late to be corrected!!!! And there are about 100 other things that cause 0 harm to your body or your baby that help with pain and morning sickness!

@mamas_mia, my niece is the result of a teen pregnancy. And her mom is kinda on the edge some times. But she would do anything in the world for her daughter! But she wasn't into weed.

@da ntistevanmommie, I know a lot of mothers that were in the same boat that have even asked their doctors if it's okay (which they said yes, as long as they stopped at a certain point). And I completely agree with you. It's not something I'd tell everyone to do, but it is medically know to help with morning sickness and several other pains so if it helps then do what you gotta do. Just make sure you're baby is good and there's no problem

You know. And my biggest thing is. YOU CHOSE TO GROW A BABY! it's not easy. By any means. It's painful. And screws with your emotions. I have CRIPPLING back pain every single day. But I'm not going to go smoke a damn joint because I'm in pain!? I get that some people have a lower pain tolerance. But oh well! This is what our bodies were made for! No ones said it's a walk in the park. But I wouldn't trade what I go through for anything. And I find other ways to cope with pain. No pills. No joint. No wine. Nothing. Just me. My body. And my baby!

@awn0710, and this is why babies shouldn't be having babies. Some teenage mom's grow up and turn into some of the best mothers I've ever seen, but then some turn out like her. Absolutely ridiculous. Poor baby.

I'll probably get a lot of crap about this, but I used marijuana the first couple of months of my pregnancy because I had migraines that Tylenol would not make better. I told my Drs because I wanted to quit smoking but the only way I could was if they gave me something for the migraines. It took me almost 4 months to find something to make them go away. I'm not saying that anyone should use during pregnancy but I did TONS of research on the effects of weed use during pregnancy and there hasn't been anything linked to weed use during pregnancy. My baby, luckily, is growing just fine. I however have quit and do not have any intentions of using again.

and no I was just replying to your comment. Some people gave there reasons to feel the way they do about certain things. like I said you'd have to go threw it to understand how a certain person feels about something .

@awn0710, some 17 year old posted that she smokes weed to ease her morning sickness, then goes on to ask if cps could take her baby because of it. But then if you go to her page she States that her baby was diagnosed with a developmental disorder in the womb. She cares about her baby enough to not want to have her taken away, but not enough to put her health first. Makes me sick.

@gvarra92, kudos to you for being a strong mamma through all the hard times. My mom put me through hell as a child with her several addictions as well! And I learned from all her mistakes! And I know I'll be one kick ass mom because of it! Your baby is lucky to have you for a mom!

my mother is a heroin addict I have my lived with her since I was 5 . her not being a mom and not ever really being in my life taught me what not to do and to do the opposite of everything she has done. I know I am the greatest mother I could possibly be because of her. If that makes any sence. so no, I've never understood any of it. Random thought, not advocating at all, but I've wondered if they say having a glass of wine or whatnot on occasion is okay wouldn't that be the same as taking a hit or two? With all the medical benefits being reported, I can't help but assume it would be "better" than a glass of wine? Idk, just a thought. I'm not doing either regardless.

My husband still smokes and whenever I smell it on him it makes me sick. It never used to bother me before I was pregnant now I can't stand the smell of it

@marbeffff, yeah, so it's definitely better to catch it early and kick the habit before that time comes around! I didn't even "quit" because I was pregnant, I was just smoking with friends like usual and just didn't do it after that. A few weeks later I found out I was pregnant and that's when I decided that I was calling it quits for a while!

I was just sharing that what my OB said cracked me up. Like dang apparently weed is okay for morning sickness lol. But then once you're stoned all day every day in the last half of pregnancy, the baby comes out used to weed and grumpy and a low birth weight or early. Like, their brains can't be developing properly at that point 😔

@marbeffff, understandable. The last time I smoked was February 1st, and I had no idea that I was 6 weeks pregnant then. But I wasn't a regular user, so "quitting" wasn't even a thing for me. I haven't even thought about using it since! :)

I smoked accidentally my first six weeks without knowing I was pregnant because admittedly I was quite a stoner before. Which, no big deal, if there isn't a baby developing in there. But anyway, I asked my OB cause I was worried about it stunting the growth and development somehow. And she actually told me any marijuana usage before 20 weeks if you quit the effects will reverse themselves. Not that that makes it okay to smoke, I just thought it was funny. Like, shouldn't you just say don't do drugs while pregnant PERIOD? Lol. But apparently the growth development issues are mostly in the third trimester. A lot of people use it for morning sickness and there have never been any issues. But being baked every day all day is a little different in my opinion.. I kinda straightened up when I found out. There were more important things than partying at that point. Ah well

I have no idea how women get away with smoking weed while pregnant. Don't they check your urine every visit. I know my doctor does.

I'm actually a recreational marijuana rights activist, and I'm on board with you there. Unless there is a medical reason for marijuana usage, you shouldn't be using it while pregnant. It slows the baby's heart rate, growth, and brain development down. :(
