With the recommendation of my doctor, I did smoke and use edibles with both of my pregnancies. Much much safer than pharmaceuticals. My first son was 9 pounds, my second one was only 7.2 but the babies were completely back to back and that’s why he was smaller. I used marijuana throughout both of my pregnancies up until the day that I delivered. And the boys are perfect. When I smoked instead of used edibles, I would not hold the smoke and I would release it very quickly and that I would spend about one minute taking mindful deep breath’s to get lots of oxygen to the baby. I definitely would not say smoke all day every day but as you have issues that need relief, I would say do it. But I was very lucky I was able to keep complete transparency with my doctor

I smoked in the beginning during mine cause I was so sick the first trimester. Only thing that would let me keep any food down. Got to the point that couldn't even keep water down. Baby girl is perfectly fine. My OB told me "I can't tell you it's okay to smoke because I'm a doctor but I'll tell you it's not harmful."

@followthegreenlady, I’m very informed, guess again. Nice how you went right to calling names. Clearly shows your lack of maturity and intelligence.

@followthegreenlady, number one: Seroquel is an antipsychotic, definitely not in the same category as a tranquilizer. Educate yourself before you spread misinformation.

Number two: edibles have quite a bit of THC in them, to the point it poses a health risk if you ingest the entire edible. Things like gummy bears etc. that are sold as edibles have portion sizes that are equivalent to 1/4 of a gummy bear. States like Colorado have seen an increase in children needing treatment at the ER due to accidental ingestion of edibles.

Number three: CBD oil/infused items work chemically in a much different way than THC. CBD does not get you high, while THC does. Anyone who is serious in wanting to treat a medical issue should want to use CBD vs. THC, unless their “medical issue” is just an excuse to get high.

I’m an advocate of CBD and THC - the amount of THC even from an edible (a heavy edible) is minuscule. I medicate to replace seroquel (basically a horse tranquilizer) and she is just fine. Fetuses start producing cannabinoids at 16 days gestation in the womb and are found in breastmilk regardless if you smoke/ingest/vape or not. Just be careful who you tell - people who smoke to get thigh usually judge you more than patients. The @thecannadoula on instagram is a great resource - I’m @thecannahousewife if you want some community.

I agree with @dinamarie1995, just make sure your doctor is aware so that you don’t pose any risk of it appearing in any drug test and causing you unnecessary problems!

Smoking anything is not good for anyone ever, let alone when pregnant. There isn’t enough research out there for me to have a personal opinion on edibles or cbd while pregnant. I would think cbd would be the safer route than edibles though.

I did also in the beginning for nausea and it helped me sooo much, my babygirl came out perfect

@marielovely, I was think that!! @olga.vlaa, I’ve never done it but I know people who have done it and hid it from their doctor and lost their baby once they were born and were drug tested. Please make sure you discuss with your doctor and it’s in your chart if you decide to!

@olga.vlaa then they're likely high in THC which isn't the medicinal property of marijuana.

@ajowens1547 I agree. I'm not even a fan of Marijuana, but CBD has worked miracles for me.

@worlds.okayest.mom hmm I might look into it then! Pharmaceutical drugs are much more harmful than CBD/marijuana in my opinion anyways...

@ajowens1547 I get calm, so it's a sedation feeling, but no. He actually becomes more sedated with the gabapentin.

@worlds.okayest.mom but CBD doesn't get you high right? So no risk of sedation or anything harmful to baby?

I've wanted to try CBD as well, but I think I need to learn more about it first. My obgyn for my first daughter was a naturalist and recommended marijuana for my nausea and anxiety/other health issues with my first pregnancy, so I did it and it seemed to help. I just felt bad so I stopped.

I did CBD. It saved my life.
