Is anyone familiar with WIC? I breastfeed my twins but it's been getting harder lately since I work and go to school now. I saw on the website you get WIC 6 months if you formula feed and a year if you breastfeed , what if you do both ? And how long does it take to get WIC?

I got wic while I was pregnant and my son gets it until he turns 2
Friend got her wic the same day and she does formula. She tried breastfeeding but it didn't work for her so she only get so many cans of formula
if you do both they put you down as breastfeeding. you get 6 cans a month the first 6 months and I believe 6-12 months is three cans. at least that's how it is here.
With WIC when I call to make an appointment im in within a week. Every state is diffrent of course. But if you do both then they'll give you a package that will fit both needs.
im not sure on details because i just buy tge walmart brand like $20 a week for 1 ..but tell wic that you just breastfeed or which ever one you get more formula

If you qualify for WIC but don't have it, or you're not sure if you qualify....go down to your local office. WIC is a great resource to help you get extra things you need. I get WIC and I'm not ashamed to get some extra help.
I'm able to get all of this for free (a few items here are not wic *cottage cheese and froyo* but were still free with coupons) because of WIC. I also had bread, oj, eggs ,cheese, tortillas etc that are not in the pic.

I have a rant and this is just my opinion but I bet most of you mommies will agree.
If you can go get your nails done and pay 50 to 60 dollars then you can pay for your child’s milk and all that. I understand needing help with baby stuff but food I mean come on it’s not that much.
I know I don’t know your guys lifestyle but it pisses me off when girls get on wic and then go spend so much on themselves.

I see you live in Atlanta. I went to this location and got my wic the same day... this is the address... 3700 Martin Luther King Junior Drive Northwest, Atlanta, GA.. you have to come on a Thurs if you don't have an appointment before 8:30am..they serve the first 10 people. Bring proof of income, baby birth certificate if you don't have one just proof of birth, Something with your address on it (lease, utility bill) and I.d. Hope this helps.
