If you qualify for WIC but don't have it, or you're not sure if you qualify....go down to your local office. WIC is a great resource to help you get extra things you need. I get WIC and I'm not ashamed to get some extra help.
I'm able to get all of this for free (a few items here are not wic *cottage cheese and froyo* but were still free with coupons) because of WIC. I also had bread, oj, eggs ,cheese, tortillas etc that are not in the pic.
I get wic too. Not ashamed either! We can get lactaid milk though?! We still get the checks
Omg Illinois needs to do it like that
@jae oh i understand what you mean. Unfortunately i dont know the answer. Here in Connecticut we get a debit style card. It comes with a list of pur balance. Example: $20 for fruits, 3 loaves of bread, 3 doz eggs etc. When you go to the store you buy what you need example: $5 of fruits, 1 loaf of bread and 1 doz eggs. It deducts from your card and you get a printout of your balance. They make it really easy to use wic here
Right. So in Illinois I guess there are two different types of coupons? There are regular grocery store coupons that I could use at like Walmart or target and then there are coupons that can only be used at actual WIC stores. I have the ones that I can only use at actual WIC stores and idk how to get the ones I can use at a regular store like Walmart. I'm sorry if I'm confusing you. This is probably something I should be asking them lol
@jae sorry i didn't read your last comment thoroughly. But i dint understand what you mean when you say regular grocery store and wic store. I shop at a regular grocery store that accepts wic benefits
I know that lol. What I'm saying is the coupons I have through WIC I'm not allowed to use in regular stores. They tell me I have to use them in the WIC stores only.
@jae the shelves will be labled wic under the item if you're allowed to get it. You can also ask an employee if you're not sure
Well I know it can done here because the stores have the little signs that has all the wic approved stuff labeled. I just dk what the difference is in the coupons.
@jae it may be different in your state. I can go to any store that accepts wic including corner stores, pharmacies, etc. Also i have a card. Not checks. Call your wic office to ask mama
I get wic but right now can only go to the actual wic stores. Do you know how I would be able to use my coupons at an actual grocery store?
I'm a single soon to be mom. I don't qualify for WIC.. any other programs that anyone can suggest?
I have really good insurance through my job and Im disappointed because they do not give you free BREAST pump. Should have had some government assisted insurance and then I would have qualified for everything free. Free housing, WIC, free food, free insurance (I don't pay copay but still) etc etc. I pay a lot of taxes I should qualify for something. Sigh.
When can a pregnant woman start receiving wic? I automatically income qualify but my boyfriend insists that you don't receive wic benefits until the 3rd trimester and keeps telling me to wait to apply. Is it true that you don't get wic until the 3rd trimester? I can't find anything that suggests it is.
For those of you that live near a PF Chang’s.
I can get you free food - comment if you’re near one! 🤗
I have a rant and this is just my opinion but I bet most of you mommies will agree.
If you can go get your nails done and pay 50 to 60 dollars then you can pay for your child’s milk and all that. I understand needing help with baby stuff but food I mean come on it’s not that much.
I know I don’t know your guys lifestyle but it pisses me off when girls get on wic and then go spend so much on themselves.
We get the checks. Honestly it'd be easier if all states had a card
