@maybaby2016, my thought process is its easier to take away a pacifier than a thumb!
I feel shamed bc I never stop feeling hungry all time ! may be cuz I'm breastfeeding mom. anyway, I'm shamed cuz I'm not taking care of my weight any more. and I don't wana be more fat
When is it ever ok to judge a parent?!? My son is circumcised which according to some means i had my son mutilated... He also is formula fed although I did try to nurse him... Which means I did not try hard enough apparantly... My daughter was partially nursed and both my kids are getting vaccinations... I also worked up til I was 37 weeks with my son and once maternity leave is up Im going back to work... My daughter was in daycare from 2-4 years old which means I did not raise her... My son will be starting soon and I'm a single mommy.... So my kids will grow up to be criminals and single parents too.. So yeah I'm the worst mommy ever.... 😂 tell that to my smart, beautiful, social, happy daughter and happy and handsome son.... How you choose to raise your kids is your right as a parent! What gives anybody the right to criticize a parent when they like the rest of us are trying the best they can?!? (my fb post yesterday)
@zachsbabygurl, girl people say anything. i breastfeed. but what matters is your baby is fed and healthy not all mothers can make milk. i am sorry people have done that. as for holding your baby if they havent reached a point where thats all they want i dont see the big deal. every parent is different dont worry about what other people say you and you only know whats best for your child
Everyone in my family tells me I hold my baby to much. Maybe I do, but she is my one and only baby (per doctors orders). She grows everyday and I just want to cuddle and snuggle her while she let's me.
I'm shamed for bottle feeding my daughter along with breast feeding her and for holding her to much
Im shamed for sticking up for moms who are always getting shamed!!! These petty moms on here wanna report my posts when im venting about it- then preggie makes this post & everyones all over it lmfao 😂 thats one thing that makes my blood BOIL. My boyfriends cousin is always getting bashed by our grandma for her son having long hair, using a MAM, baby wearing, co sleeping, EVERYTHING.
So my PSA is if you think youre a better mom than the next one youre DEAD WRONG. These moms that work their asses off to provide for their children are the ones that get the most shit from moms that have the luxury of being a stay at home mom. Not everyone has that choice, and not every mom wants to quit working after having their children. YOU ARENT BETTER THAN ANYONE AND IF YOU BASH YOURE WORSE!!!!!!
ppl say i need put my son on a routine
my co worker says that I'm a bad mom because I want a little time to myself sometimes, I work go to school an my boyfriend works to sometimes it's nice to go out to see a movie just us two without the kids, but in her eyes were horrible parents for wanting that time.
@mommy534, that's terrible, hopefully you know she's wrong. lots of mothers choose to use pacifiers and that's ok. 😊
I have been shamed for vo-sleeping, cloth diapering, baby wearing, my view that I want to do child led weaning that will hopfully give 2+ years of breast feeding, for eating too much but people don't realize that you have to snack a lot between feedings because you are burning so many extra calories, and for not wanting my child to have sugar until I is 1 and even then it be very limited.
I've gotten so much shame from a lactation consultant for not breastfeeding. I've never felt so guilty when people see me feeding my daughter formula. It started off with a difficult latch, bloody nipples, crying from the pain during feedings, her 9% weight loss, and the biggest one: sexual abuse. Shame people just assume a mother's different parenting style is due to laziness.
I've been mom shamed for not being married to the father of my child, aka my boyfriend. People always assume we're married but when I say boyfriend the just have a weird look on their face. His aunt (who's very religious but had her first kid at 14) even asked when we were going to get married. She almost made it seem like we have to right now. Even though I want us to get married, we both want at least one of us to finish up school before we can do that.
I have been mom shamed for vaccinating, for breastfeeding, for not bottle feeding, for not covering up to nurse, for not giving solids before 6 months and not giving her cereals and not forcing purees when she wanted to pick up her food (BLW), for continuing to breastfeed til a year (birthday is in a week and plan on going longer!), for not returning to work, for not putting shoes on her, for holding her or going to her when she cries...I have been mom shamed for not taking her outside all the time when it is hotter than Hades in Arizona and I don't have a car all day while hubby is at work, for taking her with us to do laundry when she was a newborn, and for bathing her before bed when she spat up...You name it, I have been ridiculed and mom shamed and judged for it, no matter the choice I make. There is also a lot of support from some close friends and family (when I say close I don't mean geographically because we moved out of State and have no one close by anymore), but mostly there is negativity from basically anyone and everyone.
My father-in-law kind of mom-shamed me for expressing an interest in cloth diapering. I've already been pretty nervous discussing it with any moms in my family or in my husband's family since EVERYONE on both sides has done disposables with pretty much all their kids and I've just felt like I would get strange looks for it and that kind of just confirmed it for me. But in a way it almost makes me more determined to do it, just so I can prove it can be done and that it's way easier in this day and age than it's ever been.
Ha. I got mom shamed get this - for getting stretch marks even though I used lotions and oils and creams.... Yeah that's right its not even a joke. I already felt bad about the fact I have stretch marks everywhere but that took it to a whole new level. Doing bottle feeding, vaccines, and not Co sleeping I swear I've never felt more judged in my life. I don't understand. If my baby is healthy, fat, and happy what does it matter?!
I get shamed for waiting 9 years to have another baby well babies then they talk about me because I'm carrying triplets like I could make my body only produce one. I'm carrying natural triplets and yes I waited a while but Im proud of my decisions. I don't shame anyone cause it's none of my business and I support all mothers cause it'd hard carrying and caring for kids. the way u parent doesn't work for everyone. learn from each other don't shame each other
I've totally gotten mom shamed for exclusive pumping... after trying to latch without success for 2 months and not having the funds for an LC I dedicated myself to EP'ing and have been told that it doesn't count as breast feeding and my baby wouldnt bond with me because I was feeding a machine... I've beat myself up so much for being an exclusive pumper because I wanted to BF so bad but when you've got a baby screaming and holding her breath till she's about to pass out you've gotta make a tough decision. I pumped until 10 months making enough milk to last us until 13 months... I've also been told I didn't actually give birth because I had an emergency c-section that SAVED my daughters life after her heart rate consistently kept dropping.
She says that she would rather be dead or even have God kill me so that she can get what she wants. @jennatess She says that I am not her mother and that I am in her way. As I said in my profile, she's mentally incompetent and dysfunctional, so she knows what she says if hurtful, she just doesn't care.
@ehq, bless your heart. One day she will feel bad about that. My little sister used to joke with my mom for being over weight after she had her third and last child. She was just a child, but, to this day she feels bad and STILL apologizes to my mom regularly. You're beautiful, and one day she will see that also!
People are so shocked when I tell them I didn't try to breastfeed. "You didn't even TRY!?". I'm sick of being looked down on just because I knew breastfeeding wasn't for us. I had one woman once go off on me when I made my daughter a bottle. "Shame on you!", she said with a smile. I knew she was being passive aggressive... She continued to tell me I wasn't living up to my full potential. Like really?! It's 2016. News Flash: formula ISN'T poison!
I got mom shamed for being over protective of my kids. They are 12 & 15 and I won't let them out of my sight or stay with kids of families I know nothing about. I'm always told I need to "cut the apron strings". When I hear 12 year olds talking about sex, 15 year olds having babies, KINDERGARTNERS humping on the bleachers and teens smoking and doing drugs you can shame me all you want because it'll go in one ear and out the other. Not to mention all the crazies out there today. I love my kids so much and I care about them. I worked in schools and can see a difference in unsupervised children. So shame on me... You won't change my mind.
I get shamed for practicing "attachment parenting" (co sleep, baby wearing, etc.) and for not letting people babysit my daughter. They constantly tell me I'm over bearing with her.
I got shamed for deciding to have my 2nd child almost 9yrs after having my 1st. Idk if I really felt ashamed for waiting becuz I waited until I was ready.
I got shamed for choosing to not circumcise my son. I was also shamed before my labor for wanting all natural- praised after I actually went through with it. Im an exclusive pumper as well and people can't seem to understand why.
i get mom shamed because i had a csection, like it was my choice, i secretly envy those who have had natural birth. i just wish i could expiernce that once. But my csections dont make me less of a mom.
I must have fuck you on my head.. lol. no one thinks twice about talking to me when bf, or about my parenting.. that being said I think that being a parent is hard enough without mom's shaming moms. I don't agree with a lot of parenting styles but I keep it to myself because I don't live with them and that means it doesn't affect me.. it would be great, that with all the crap going on in the world, that we couldn't just focus on what our families need instead of telling others how to raise thiers.
I get mom shamed bc I couldn't breastfeed. My baby absolutely refused. I was seen by 3 different lactationist and non of them could get him to latch. Not all moms have a choice so shaming us who can't isn't fair bc some of us would have died to breastfeed.
My mother in law shames me constantly. When I was two weeks post partum she asked me if I was lazy. Then she constantly commenting on my weight and telling me how I need to lose it. I also get a lot of flack about breastfeeding. I keep getting told I need to start weaning him since he will be a year in November. When I was pregnant everyone told me I was crazy and would ask for the epidural in the end. Since I was adamant I didn't want one. My advice to other moms is don't listen to anyone who says you can't do something, your fat, or lazy. You can do anything you put your mind to. Being a mom it literally is impossible to be lazy your always having to do something to take care of your child. When it comes to weight it will come off in its own time better. Don't let anyone change your opinion of yourself.
I get Mom shamed because I don't breastfeed. I did it for 2 months with my first and I hated every moment of it. so when I tell people I won't be doing it at all for this one the mom shaming begins. Luckily I really don't care.
my 8 year old tells me that I am fat enough, that I don't need to eat and could stand to skip meals. this is after explaining to her that the weight I have is from carrying her and her younger sister without being able to lose weight in between.
Only mom shaming I got was when some of my family members commented on me breastfeeding my 1 year old but I told them fuck off so I'm not sure if it's considered shaming if you felt no shame 😂
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

you do what works for you, no one else is going to be there when that baby cries or needs comfort so it's none of their business anyway 😉 @mommy534
