Okay so I've heard women say they ask for birth control before they leave the hospital after giving birth. obviously I assume it's the pill. can you even take it that soon or do you have to wait the 6 weeks after before starting it?
@babizehm16, you are lucky lol. I never have consistent cycles anymore so tracking my cycle doesn't work. condoms and spermicide failed this time so I just don't want to take any chances.
over been on all birth control in the end we decided my body couldn't tolerate it so we use natural methods. worked so far
mirena was awful for me it imbedded it to my wall had to have surgery to remove it bled forrever after and then they told me it cause me to be infertile. obviously i am not seeing as how im 37 weeks today but still and there is a huge risk with it. i am not trying to scare just do lots of research if thats what u want it was nice not having a period for almost 5 years tho
Mirena is nice since it does still give you a few hormones just not a ton of them and then it can stop you from having cycles all together , I have tried a lot of different pills and they actually made my pain worse.
@bugmama, @lbn_aznsmom13 I have pcos. I would like mirena Bc it lasts long but I feel like the pill would give me the hormones I need?
The men do complain until it gets situated because it can be uncomfortable for them but is safe and efficient and I thought I was going to have to have surgery to concieve again due to having cysts removed the first time I concieved. I didn't thought I got chiropractic adjustments and acupuncture and was pregnant within 4 months.
I had implanon the version before nexplanon which is the arm implant now. it was awful for me. I bled the entire 3 months I had it (had to sign a contract I'd keep it at least a year) put on 45 lbs, raised my BP to stroke levels an I was only 17. It never stayed in one place. the insertion sight never healed I could poke the implant out of the hole in my arm. I had never been more moody in my entire life and even now with 2 back to back pregnancies I still haven't been that Moody. I had horrible problems with it. it also permanently lowered my progesterone levels in my body so I have had issues with going 8+ months with no period. which normally I'd be happy about but it worries me. I will never get the arm implant. and the IUD doesn't sound much better but if I can't keep up with the pills it's my last option.
Mirena you have to wait 6 weeks to have implanted. I had it for 4 years then had a rare side effect so I had it removed and was pregnant within 4 months. This pregnancy has been 100% a healthy one. There are side effects with all birth control. Mirena for me was worth it due to having PCOS because I had only had 6 months of cycles and then didn't bleed for three years stopping the cysts from forming.
@lbn_aznsmom13, I've been hearing about the arm implant but all hav been bad reviews. I want something long term but if the risks r to great I may go back to pills too
well I was going to get the Mirena IUD but after more thought about all the issues it can cause because I am not done having kids, just done for a few years at least lol, before I found out I was already pregnant this time, my doctor had me a prescription for Ocella. it's an estrogen and progestin pill. I think I'm going to stick with that for as long as I can keep up with taking it with 2 babies so close together. if I can't I will have to get the Mirena. it's my last option @kedrababy
@huntersmommy716, I was breastfeeding. but I also was not wanting BC because of that reason so was doing NFP with condoms and spermicide and obviously it failed. I will have to talk to my doctor next week when I go back.
In my experience it just depends on if your breastfeeding or not. The doctors told me where I was breastfeeding I didn't have but a couple options with no estrogen where I was breastfeeding and I have to wait 4 weeks to get the implant because pills weren't an option for me personally... without breastfeeding they could have given me the pill when I left.
my problem is I was about 8 week's PP using condoms and spermicide every time we tried to do anything (I had a c section) and I still got pregnant lol so I have to have something like as soon as the bleeding stops because I do not even wanna think about getting pregnant again so soon. I figured we were being careful enough but apparently not. so this time I'm not taking any chances. as soon as I can get on something I will lol @babizehm16 @kedrababy
I never did until I gave birth(guess I'm lucky). I still use ovulation kits and checking my cervical mucus. only 4 months in this all natural thing so far. I understand you don't want to take a chance. try the nuva ring. that was the only thing my body could tolorate
