Has anyone else chosen to leave their little one's birth certificate blank where the father's name is? What is your experience with going to Canada? I want to take baby to Niagara Falls with my SO but read you need the father's permission to take him out of the country. Would that apply?
My daughter is 15 and her "father" must have a notarized letter specifically including the dates I want to take her to Canada. Being that he has had zero contact with her in 5 + years I don't ever seeing it happening. It really sucks for us because all of my new husbands family lives in Canada. They all probably think I'm a giant bitch that just doesn't want to meet them :(
I would think it would be fine if you don't have anything through the courts saying he's the father because technically your child has no dad until DNA is established. My sons "dad" isn't on his. And I just kinda look at it like he doesn't have a dad lol. Sounds bad but he's not in his life and many moms don't know the father so how would they be expected to ask? Haha.
@ciaramarie, no he's not involved at all. He's only seen the baby one time, by chance, as we walked past him on campus 😂
@haaranmommy, is her biological dad on the Birth Certificate?
