I'm incredibly confused now. So my mom calls me to ask randomly how I plan to breast feed my son, and what routine I'm going to go with. And how she fed all her daughters for longer times throughout the day every 3/4 hours so they'd sleep through the night which I find is hard to believe a newborn sleeping through the whole night not waking up once... Which leads to my question, how am I supposed to know wtf to do when I go home with him? Idk when you're supposed to feed a baby or for how long. I've heard you can do it every 2 hours all day and night. Or just during the day. Idk I'm just feeling overwhelmed that I'm not going to know what to do with this child when I'm home alone with him.

babies tend to have a certain cry for what they want. first you start with are they hungry, do they need their butt changed are they too hot or too cold etc....you will figure it out when the baby comes.

You'll figure out a schedule, a routine, as the days go on. There is no right or wrong, just makes you and your baby happy and healthy. People will always try to push their agendas on you. Try to ignore it. Do you.

I was the same way. When they were fixing to discharge me, I thought "there is no way that they're going to send this little human home with me. There's no way.. I'm not ready.." It's safe to say that the first night wasn't NEAR as bad as I thought it would be. But there are days when I've been so overwhelmed that I'll cry right along with her, when you feel like just hold your little one and let yourself cry. Then pick yourself up and remind yourself that you're a good mom and that you're doing the best you can! For me what worked out well is, I started get her into a routine fairly early so that we didn't struggle later and it's worked so so so well. There's gonna be nights that he'll want to eat every hour. It's gonna feel like he's always on the boob.. But just know that it all passes. It does get easier! Your instinct will kick in and you'll know what to do mama! And remember every baby is different so a lot of the time it's just trial and error for what works best ❤️

you and your baby will most likely have your own schedule! don't worry about what your mom says baby will let you know when its time to eat!
