Question ladies I started giving my son solid food at 4 1/2 months old. And I only gave him 2oz of oatmeal and half a container of veggies once a day he gets it before bed I'm currently still doing the same feeding with it but I know when they get older you can do veggies like 2-3 times a day. How much do you guys do a day?
Michael sits up already on his own I wonder if I can move to 2nd foods now! I dont have his appt till the 9th. And if I call his doctor I have to talk to a nurse and they suck at advice with that kind of stuff
@jenny955 yeah the nurses suck lol ... Ki's sitting up on her own too, holds her bottle ,tries to crawl and completely rolls over, stands extremely well ... Her appt is on the 2nd but I honestly just let her try what I think is manageable and healthy I don't pay too much attention to the stages on foods but I don't give her chewables except the vanilla wafer cookie every BLUE moon and watch her because it melts and breaks off fast, she has really defind teeth ridges ... I have only tried baby jar chicken stage1 as well she didn't like it much then but I'ma try again maybe next week I was surprised it was a little chunky not as smooth as fruit and veggies 😂
@jordanrwilliams25 he trys to crawl to and gets pissed and crys because he can't really go anywhere yet😂 so hard to burp him because all he wants to do is stand! We got early bloomers!
I didn't start solids until 5 1/2 to 6 months. I also nursed all the time so he had more boob milk than anything. I did how ever introduce our foods. Like mashed potatoes and I got the one thing you put fruit in so they can suck on it and bite it . Now that he LOVED so much. . But I didn't even keep track of how many times I gave him baby food. I just kept giving him the same amount each day for a few days until I knew he didn't have a reaction like my pedi told me too.
By like 6 months my son would get pissed at a little feeding and that’s when I started him on 2-3x a day. Not long after 6 months (he already had like 4 teeth) he was on normal human solids. He’s been eating what I eat plus his purées for like 2.5 months now
Normally you don’t start giving it 3 times a day til they’re like 9-10 months old. Formula or breastmilk is most important. At six months old, once a day is plenty.
He's been having it once a day sense 41/2 months old I was trying to see if I should be giving him more
@laniejay, I believe you had a lot of info on feeding before 6 months maybe you could share it.
Solids aren’t recommended until 6 months old, anything before that isn’t good for their bellie, so personally I wouldn’t start giving your little one a feeding of solids 2-3 times a day at 6 months.
@mama.kay, well it’s not just my opinion, I’ve had my pediatrician tell me to not start until 9-10 months 3x a day and that food before 1 year old is just for fun. but we can keep going back and forth all day about this but I’d rather not 🤷🏻♀️
@michellemybell09, so I guess mines not just an opinion then either since mine said it’s based on when they’re ready, my son personally started 2-3x a day at almost 7 months. Still drinks the same amount of formula. I would rather not either, just saying everyone’s different, there are different opinions out there for past the 6m rule. Listen to your pedi and I’ll listen to mine. Have a nice day 😂
We did do 2-3 times an day until probably around 8 months old
He will be 6 months on the 4th should I start doing it? I give his oatmeal and veggies before his bottle at night time so he gets 8oz for bedtime that's including oatmeal and veg
My dr said to work up to 2 veggies and a fruit at every meal. I’m still introducing veggies right now.
I started early but at first he would just spit it out he didn't understand but now takes it like a champ lol
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Science!
My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?
Ki just turned 6 months on the 27th .. she's been eating since 4 months .. I'd say since shes been 5 months she's been eating 3 times a day and normal healthy weight and height every now and then I let her taste what's on my plate but not much just because I'm not sure if I should but she eats and she loves it ... Alot of her fussiness was because she's hungry that milk was nothing filling for my hungry girl so I had/have to feed her like I would myself 3 times a day 😂🙂
