Hi ladies, I am 12 weeks pregnant tomorrow I have my scan on Monday I can't wait πŸ˜„

One question: when I was Ttc I was taking Severn seas trying for a baby vitamins. I have continued to take them am I ok still taking these or should I progress into the "pregnancy Severn seas" I read both ingredients it has the same amount of follic acid, vitamin d and iron. The only extra on the pregnancy ones is ginger. The pregnancy ones are absolutely huge tablets where as the trying for a baby ones are nice and small so I am I ok staying on these throughout my pregnancy?

you need folic acid and vitamin d (can't remember the amount of vitamin d) there are some you shouldn't take when pregnant like vitamin a. so I personally would switch to a pregnancy one to be safe or just take folic acid and vitamin d separately

Yeah well some people just take follic acid from the start don't they. So I think it should be ok they say only up to 12 weeks but I'll probably take them all the way through

Check what they have inside, from what I remember (I used to take them too), they don't have enough vitamin D for pregnant women, the dosage was something like half of the recommended. You don't need to take them though, only vitamin D :) I still take folic acid though, nothing to do with spinal defects, after 14 weeks it doesn't help prevent them anymore, but its good for brain development :)

You don't even need to take it if you're not for some reason already deficient in a bunch of them. If you focus on getting the important nutrition straight from food your body will absorb it better.
