Am I The Only One Who Doesnt Take My Prenatal Vitamins
I takes the chewable ones. They taste like candy and don't make me sick! I like taking them :)
@katarama, yes you can with plenty of prep and availability of foods. But unless you pay close attention, you may not get the recommended amount of each nutrient each day. Folic acid is really critical, so that's why I said say at least make sure you're getting that one by taking a supplement (at the very least for the first trimester). Not knocking diet here-just saying that it's one vitamin you want to be sure about getting the recommended amount every time.
I did take mine for a while but I had a lot happen and I take them when I remember its hard to remember what meds you've taken and what ones you haven't when you have to take more than just those
I forget until right when I lay down and then it hits me lol... so far I have managed to take one everyday, but I wouldn't be surprised if I forget one in the future
I take mine sometimes. They make me nauseous, and unless I remember to take them before my thyroid medicine I don't take them. Baby will still be okay. Just make sure to keep an eye on your levels.
@mommagotbump16, you can find plenty of folic acid in everyday foods if you eat well. as long as you are making sure that you're getting the needed nutrients from your diet then there's no need for supplements or prenatals. for someone who eats nothing but junk or doesn't know how to manage their diet to make sure they're getting what they need they would be beneficial.
Well at the very least the folic acid is for baby. If you can't tolerate prenatal vitamins, try over the counter folic acid. @katarama is right, but you aren't doing yourself or baby any favors if you end up deficient on anything.
The prenatals are for YOU, not for your baby. Your baby will pull everything it needs from you; the prenatals are to help replace those nutrients so you don't become low on calcium, iron, etc. I asked this a while back and was met with very rude comments; I was even told I was a horrible mother and would probably forget to feed my child because I didn't take them. People don't seem to understand what they're for.
I take them but maybe once a week I took them everyday for about a month or so then I forgot a couple days a week. then I'd forget for a couple weeks and then take them for a few days. didn't take them for awhile maybe a month or two. just ate some today after not having done so for a couple months.. lol I feel like as long as you eat relatively healthy foods you should be fine. there are certain things linked to not getting enough folic acid though. so if you don't eat healthy at all and don't take them your chances of something happening to your little one are greater! not preaching.. cuz I clearly just admitted to not having taken mine lol which is cool to know other people are in the same boat. Haha but it's good to be informed.
@katarama @candice_leann @mrsmord Yea i took em in the. beginning but thatwas it
I took some for abt a month in the beginning and that was it.
