Ok moms I need all the advice I can get on pumping. I'm 100% clueless. I jus got a pump today but I don't wanna use it till I'm knowledgeable on storage and such. It's a double pump. I have questions about storing it mainly. Like start to finish. What do I do with what I jus pumped?, do I mix the bottles together then put them in the fridge? How many ounces do I leave in each bottle? When should I start freezing some? I need as much detailed info as I can get lmao. HELP! Your more than welcome to jus message me.

Also Medela has an app that is great for keeping track of how much time and how many oz from each session. It can also help keep track of how much your feeding you baby and diaper changes and naps and other things that you can make yourself crazy about. Lol.

Go on Instagram and check out @exclusivepumpingmama and exclusivelypumpingerin I get a lot of good information from them. I've seen both milk get mixed together at the end of the day and others that freeze each pumping session separately. I like to mix mine and then bag it. I bag 4oz per bag. Milk can stay frozen 6-12 months. Especially in a deep freeze vs a regular freezer. I don't have a deep freeze so I put mine in the coldest part of the freezer. I date it and I write the oz per bag even though they're all the same. Other tips I'll recommend that have helped me in my short time pumping is to lube the flange part with coconut oil the help with the friction. Also that you can put your parts in a plastic Baggie and store it in the fridge between pumping sessions. Wash them once a day. I do a lot of research on pumping while I'm pumping. I've read and heard a lot about at eating oatmeal to help increase production but I didn't really notice a difference. What does work is Gatorade as odd as it sounds. I was never a huge fan but I started drinking it this week and have noticed a big difference. That and water. Drink lots of water. I've read that we should drink close to 80oz of water per day which sounds crazy to me and I don't get anywhere near that but the more the better. Get yourself a hands free bra or make one out of an old sports bra. Make it as comfortable and easy as you can so your more likely to keep it up. If something is difficult we tend to not want to do things so make it simple for yourself and don't get discouraged. It's not easy but we do it out of love.
