Ok I need some breastfeeding guru's to help me prepare.
I have loads of questions, this is my fourth baby, however my first baby that will be breastfed.
1. Is it bad to drink coffee while breastfeeding?
-I have cut down on my caffine intake, while pregnant and all. However I still have at least a cup a day, a mountain dew every so often to have her move.
2. Sense engourment does happen, if baby doesn't nurse all night. Should you still get up and pump, or do you wait?
3. Does spicey foods, really give baby acid reflux?
I will have more questions later too, just asking what is what. Yes I am taking notes.

1. Coffee is fine for bf as long as the caffeine doesn't affect your baby. If you were drinking it during pregnancy it should be fine, maybe have a cup after you nurse her. 2. For engorgement, only pump to relieve the pressure. 3. Again with spicy food, if you were eating it during pregnancy you should be fine. All babies are different, it's trial by error. 4. Find a lactation consultant, they can better address your questions in rl. Congrats on your decision with baby #4!

my midwife said that it's best to keep the same diet that you had with pregnancy. if you've had lots of spicy foods while pregnant then baby's tummy won't be effected as bad....... I've learned that with how much milk I make at night I either need to pump or sleep on a bed pad because I will leak all over. I get Lazy at night and lay the baby beside me and we have woken up in a puddle multiple times.

@beauandleosmom The hospital I am delivering at, is the awesome one I had my first at. Do you think they would be able to answer all my questions? Yeah by now with my other three, I had those free samples and starting up on collecting formula. I told my husband, I will not put temtation in the house. I am so looking forward to this, and I want to pump so I don't leave him out of course. My mother in law said that will help with supply and demand. I also want to go natural, if god lets it happen.

Ditto @beauandleosmom ! I'll also add to 2 that while painful, your supply will adjust to what baby needs pretty easily, so if you do have to pump for relief, don't go until you're empty-just go until you feel some relief.

@lilmommy93 @mommagotbump16 Thank you guys. I was just wondering, and like I told her I really want to do this for this baby.

@lilmommy93, I remember those nights...waking up in a cold puddle of leaked bmilk. Not fun, but it doesn't last forever hehe. I love my sleep also and we co-slept the first month until he was sleeping through the night. @soon_2_be_mom_of_4 , I would hope that someone at the hospital would be able to answer your questions. If not, try your local WIC office. Even if you aren't on WIC they should be able to answer your questions. I worked at WIC in Texas for 10 years as a lactation consultant and helped many moms that weren't on the program.

@beauandleosmom, I have to wake him up most of the time to feed him at night. but if I put him in his bed then I leave him until I absolutely cannot stand it. he hates that I wake him up but oh well.. here's to a life time of me being that mom that lives to pick on her kids **in a nice way** ;)
