Hey moms, I know I haven’t been on here in a while but I have a few questions that my OB didn’t answer when I went today. So I’m 36 weeks & 4 days pregnant and at the visit he said baby is measuring 40 weeks. Has this ever happened to anyone? Did you have your baby early? Also he said I’m strep b positive, what does that mean? Is my baby going to be okay? I appreciate all responses
I wouldn't worry to much about the measurements.. at 37 weeks they estimated he was 7pounds 4oz I thought I was gunna have a big baby but he came out 7pounds 8oz.
With my first son, my fundal height always measured 4-5 weeks ahead, he was born 10lbs 6oz on his due date. And for the strep b positive, you’re baby will be fine. They will administer antibiotics! It’ll all be okay!
Ultrasound measurements can be off. I wouldn’t worry too much. They said my son was 7lbs at 37 weeks. I was terrified I was going to have a huge baby. He was 6lbs9oz when born. They also freaked me out with my first saying she was under 5 lbs at 39 weeks (my last appt) she was 6lbs 6oz. Don’t get too worried about the ultrasound measurements. And I was stern b positive for both. You have to get antibiotics during labor so nothing passes to baby. It’s pretty common and they’re really good about keeping an eye on that. Everything will be ok 😊
It’s normal for a baby to measure 2 weeks ahead or behind anything more I would have been asking more questions about your due date and induction did they offer an ultrasound to measure the baby that way.? If your really 40 weeks and measuring 40 weeks your due any day now waiting 4 more weeks can put your unborn in serious harm so I would be going back to the doctor and demanding answers and if you have strep b all that means is your gonna have an IV with meds during delivery did you doctor not explain that either.??? I would be demanding doctors it’s sad you probably won’t be able to switch doctors since your so far along
@ashleyp123, girl it’s okay to measure more than 2 weeks ahead. After the first trimester baby’s measure differently because of genetics. Like the other user said it’s either because you have extra fluid or baby is on the bigger side. Also, if they measured of the measuring tape it can be off due to baby’s positioning. An ultrasound would be the best way for them to get a more accurate measurement.
Why would she ask about an induction because her baby is measuring on the bigger side? That makes no sense.
Group b is bacteria. It’s normal. Just means you need antibiotics during labor to keep from passing it to baby.
Yeah I measured that big it just means one of two things you either have too much fluid or your baby’s big lol
@ashleyp123, not you, asking babymegan
When is your due date @babymegan68,
Your baby will be fine. They caught it so they will treat it
U won't have baby early just cause size and group b is a bacteria we already have sometimes it gets out of hand and u will need antibiotics during labor for it
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

i hope i have my baby this week...or in a couple of years...if he wants to come out...it's whatever he wants 😓
My doctor said he would induce my labor at 38 weeks, if my baby girl still had growth issues and if the percentile dropped to 10 or less. Last thursday, it was 10 percentile, and he said if she didn't come on her own by 38 weeks, he would induce labor at that time. I'm 36 weeks 1 day today, he said my cervix was super thin, and 1cm dilated. Is there a possibility this can change... that my doctor will let her just come on her own? I don't want to be induced, i would much rather her come on her ...
Keep the baby or Abortion.......
I'm 5 weeks pregnant which was not planned, told my family and there over the moon. I've been with my boyfriend for 4 years, we said we would be together no matter what. We both live with our parents and I'm in full-time work and he isn't. I've always wanted to be a mum it's one of my dreams, but my boyfriend thinks we should have an abortion because he thinks we are not ready, he doesn't have a full-time job and we are not living together. I don't believe in ab...
Trigger. Lost baby
Went in for my 20 week check up and found out our son had passed away. Nothing was wrong, my pregnancy has been going great. I'm so numb right now. I'll he delivering him later this week. I don't want to do this. I don't want to do this. Not before Christmas. How am I'm going to tell my kids?? My dear sweet baby boy. Why did this happen?
As the others have said, their measurements aren’t always correct, they never were with all three of mine. My first they were concerned was far too small & only gonna roughly weight 4lbs & a couple oz. she was 6lbs even. My second they thought was big & she was only 5lbs 4oz. & then my third they said she definitely wouldn’t be much over 5lbs & she was 6lbs 6oz. So I never honestly pay attention anymore. I got a few smaller outfits Incase she was small but I knew better.
