My daughter is one week old and I ebf. She has spit up a lot today, like after every other feeding, and once even projectile spit up what I'm assuming to be the entire content of her stomach. Now I'm afraid she's overeating. We're nursing now and twice now she unlatched on her own but starts rooting again as I burp her. I put her back on the boob and she nurses for like two minutes then falls asleep and detaches again. I'm not trying to be a human pacifier here. Lol and I'm really afraid of her overeating and spitting up while she sleeps. Has anyone ever had a similar problem?

she's cluster feeding...bringing your milk in hang in there mama...try a pacifier to let you rest in between feedings.
it is impossible to over feed an exclusively breastfeeding baby. if you bottle fed, breast or formula, it is very easy to over feed. babies spit up it's very normal some a whole lot it's usually from sensitive stomachs & acid reflux which all babies have some just don't deal with it as well as others. if it seems to cause baby discomfort call the doctor. breastfeeding is basically supply & demand. the more you nurse the more milk you make. once your milk regulates in the next few weeks you'll stop feeling so engorged & sometimes stop leaking all together. your supply is fine! baby is getting exactly what she needs do not think you lot your supply it is a very wrong misconception about breastfeeding. as long as baby is getting enough wet diapers you are making enough milk.
my baby has been doing this for a few nights. last night she slept longer in one period than she had since being born. I normally hand her to my husband to do something but halfway through she is screaming. I have never been someone to not change clothes if they get nasty but earlier today my husband was cooking, my 10 year old was all over the place, and I was changing a stinky diaper. she pooped on my pants and I wiped them off with wiped bc she was crying until my husband was done and I could get a shower.

@brooklyn0516, I am going through the same thing. my baby has nursed on and off about every 30 minutes since 10pm. I'm exhausted but it must be a comfort for her.
@loveless, thank you so much! I was getting concerned and ready to cry lol I never even thought of it as upping my supply. There's just no other way to soothe her right now. So if I'm not over feeding her I'll just roll with it.
breastfeeding is crazy hard in the beginning for 2 weeks or even a month, you can't really over feed a breastfed baby. and a lot of the time in those early weeks they are going to comfort nurse especially during those crazy growth spurts in the first month, not necessarily feeding each time she's on the boob, but this greatly benefits your supply in the long-run. I've been ebf for almost 5 months now, no bottles and I don't use a pacifier unless we need to in the car and only if she wants it but I didn't even introduce a pacifier until she was over those growth spurts- it's highly not advisable to use a pacifier when they are going through a growth spurt for various reasons. however I have had the same concerns too in fact that's why I got the pacifier in the first place until I researched more about them, my daughter would feed then when she's full continue to comfort nurse but it would cause milk to come which she didn't want but she needed the boob so it was this constant struggle of her being full but wanting the nipple and when the milk came again she'd spit up and puke a lot. it is normal and it will pass
