You could, but the mucus plug does grow back.

I had the same thing happen, I was 1 cm dilated & 80% effaced also & still ended up having to be induced.. It just depends on the person. My doctor said most people go in to labor within 48 hours of a membrane sweep.. Just not me I guess 😂😂

After I got my sweep with my 2 youngest I went into labor the same day!
