My blood sugar is running about 145-150 two hours after eating. It's only been one day since I quit metformin. Still in hospital. They're saying these are "normal" but I know once the metformin is out of my system my sugar will be higher. Now they're saying they may send me home on nothing at all. It's like wtf am I here....if they can't keep me on metformin or insulin won't the high sugar hurt my baby? #frustrated #ignored #hunnnnngry
The MFM clinic is for high risk. But here at the hospital they aren't I don't think I've seen an OB since I got here. Just one general resident dr.
do you see an ob that specializes in diabetic pregnancies if not id highly recommend it b/c it's considered high risk.
@jimenez310, that is crazy. I understand maybe if that specific med is dangerous to the baby vs a different med which may be safer. But to pull you off all meds when diabetic is just absurd. I'd have a different opinion.
I've been diabetic for three years. So it seems crazy that they would even consider putting me off it and maybe not using insulin while pregnant. @kejs0911
The dr at the clinic said it is. The dr here said there aren't enough studies to know. So idk but I don't want to just let it go.
Why do they want you off metformin? Is it dangerous for the baby?
The last time they tried to see how I would do off metformin my sugar was going up to 200 after the third day off of it. This is a few months ago. @kejs0911
Nope. Haven't seen my ob since they admitted me. I won't always have the same OB bc I'm going to the MFM clinic.
@jimenez310, or worse you. Have you discussed your sugar levels with your dr? Your ob, I mean.
tell them that you demand to talk to your doctor's office before they take you off anything. then sugars you have now aren't bad but they'll get worse.
