anyone in tx?

I'm sooo scared of this hurricane. My husband is in wyoming working so it's just me and my 2 kids. They're saying it's going to be a category 4 when it lands and I'm just scared. He's been telling me to calm down the last 2 days I've mentioned it and he just text me and said "I'm really worried about this storm" I want to pack my stuff and drive to wyoming right now...it's a 17 hour drive. But then I'm afraid I'd be stuck and wouldn't be able to get home bc of flooding and I don't want my daughter to miss school. I'm just terrified. I'm crying right now lol.

How's everyone doing? We've had patches of heavy wind and rain and lost power for about 5-10 minutes but so far nothing too bad.

Harvey is on the ground! Category 4 130 MPH winds. Stay safe everyone!!

I live in Houston and have been through many hurricanes. Do your research for yourselves on the area you live in. If it had a history of flooding then the safest thing would be to evacuate. But if you live in a area that has no recent history of flooding and they have said it will hit Corpus, Houston will see heavy rain. Just use your best judgement. Many times we worry about things way more than necessary. I'm praying for everyone but Staying put for now.

I've been keeping tabs on it! We're expecting 40+mph winds and anywhere from 3-7 inches in rain which isn't too crazy but It floods really bad here. The base I live on is already shutting down high flood areas because someone got swept away a few months ago and they never found him ? I hope everyone stays safe!

I'm already stressed lol but I bought some beer might as well enjoy myself cause there isn't a damn thing I can do!

Нравится Ответить

Don't let this stress you , I've already became light headed from this storm ! Just praying god protects me and my unborn son ! And keep him cooking because his mommy is going crazy !!

Praying for y'all from Oklahoma. I'm close to the main hwy from Texas and it's packed due to construction near our town. (I 35)

I live near port lavaca/Victoria right on the coast and we evacuated. If it would have stayed a cat 1 or less we would have stayed but evacuated south. It's was a mandatory evacuation for my county. It's sucks so bad not knowing if you are going to come home to a house or not. My dad stayed in his house because he's hardheaded so I'm really nervous for him. If you are going to evacuate do it soon!

Нравится Ответить

Good luck! At least my husband would be home from work at the time. We expect rain, but hopefully not too bad. We are about an hour and a half away from San Antonio, so hoping it doesn't come much this way.

Yeah I knew it was going to be atleast category 3. Fingers crossed to all the BB ladies who are in this. They expect it to hit around 2 am tonight.

News stations have updated the hurricane to a category 3.

Нравится Ответить

Im from Houston but they are only evacuating ppl from Corpus Christy and Galveston for now!! Supposedly its already a Category 3 hurricane

Just keep up with the news and if you have to evacuate please do!!

Нравится Ответить

Just make a plan in case you need to leave. Hopefully you can stay where your at now and be safe. Keep us updated if you can!

I'm just going to ride it out at my moms. She's in Montgomery. There is no use in me fighting all the people trying to go north and be stuck on the highway during the storm. I'm worried but I feel safer with other people..wish I wasn't sick and wasn't so dang tires lastnight or I'd be at my sisters house in Oklahoma right now!! Ugh

Нравится Ответить

I live in Houston and we're I live it ALWAYS floods, luckily the water never reaches our home but idk about this time. Either way we are stocked with food and water, so I'm prepared.

Нравится Ответить

I'm in Dallas. We are currently housing people from Corpus Christi and Houston. Be safe Op!

Нравится Ответить

Just outside of Houston, I'm so freaking stressed!

Нравится Ответить

I'm in New Braunfels and we are concerned about flooding too, since we have the Comal and Guadalupe rivers in town. The roads near our house flood during normal thunderstorms! I'm praying for all of you who are closer to the coast, this is getting scary!

Нравится Ответить

I'm live in Texas too, me and my family are on our way to Kentucky right now to stay with some family. Stay safe ❤

Нравится Ответить

@Gee Dallas will be safe. :)

Нравится Ответить

Is it going to hit the dallas area??

Нравится Ответить

Update us op ❤️

Still praying!

I'd leave if I were you. No point in risking your safety over your daughter missing a few days of school. If you leave now you might get caught in some traffic but the more you drive the further away you'll be from the storm. Whatever you end up doing I hope you and your kids stay safe. Good luck.

I remember a while ago there was a hurricane that hit Florida , man it was like the end of the world . Everyone was fighting for water, the bread shelves were empty. It was crazy. I currently live in El Paso so I'm not worried about the storm .

Нравится Ответить

I think if you live near Houston the worse you need to worry about is flooding. Thankfully my house is high enough it doesn't flood. I'm more concerned with bring 27 weeks pregnant, with 2 young kids and the power going out. But we're preparing by finishing off the ice cream in the fridge.

I've been in hurricanes a lot also, I'm just scared because I've never been alone. It's 6 hours, I didn't go. I was too tired to drive that far lastnight and now it's out of the question. I don't think I'm going to get anything bad here just a lot of rain but it's still scary.

Нравится Ответить

I can't imagine the worry you guys are going through! I'm in the UK so we don't get hurricanes/tornados.

Thinking of you all. Stay safe girls ?

Нравится Ответить

I'm in Austin too and my biggest concern is any tornadoes we may get from the bad storms.

Нравится Ответить

I'm in Houston. I'm nervous ass hell.

Нравится Ответить

Im from Texas , we are just getting lots of rain . Evacuate is the safest thing to do for your family.

Нравится Ответить

Austin here too and when I saw rain and cooler temps I was excited until I realized it was a hurricane coming in. I'm not worried about here in Austin at all but my son was supposed to move to Pelican Island this weekend to get ready to start his freshman year at A&M Galveston. He's staying 30-40mins north of Houston right now with his dad, so I'm definitely worried about him! I imagine A&M will cancel check in for this weekend but we don't officially find out until noon today.

Нравится Ответить

Booskip I'm in Austin too. I'm not worried at all. I actually welcome all of this much needed rain.

Op how long is the drive to Oklahoma?

Нравится Ответить

Im so sorry your going through this. Ill definitely be praying for yall. We just went through this with Hurricane Matthew. I would leave if you feel uncomfortable. Especially if they say evacuate. Also if you do evacuate, when you come back make sure that you have cash. If the power is out, debit and credit won't work. Also bring a cooler and get a lot of ice on the way home before you get back. Finding ice was one the hardest things when we got back. Also make sure you have water, flashlights and batteries. Also you can get a jump box for your car. Most of them now have USB ports so you would be able to charge your phone.

Texas here and goodness I didn't know anything about it..smh..I was just thinking so no Sun out today guess it's going to rain again lol.....but hang in there op k..have faith

Нравится Ответить

as a Floridian who has dealt with hurricanes my whole life, you need to get out of potential flooding areas and take shelter. Take this very seriously! It's too late for you to evacuate now. If you were going to, you should have left yesterday or the day before. If you leave now you'll be stuck on the road when it hits. Don't worry about school. It will most likely be cancelled for several days. They do this to allow people time to get home and stuff. School is the least of your worries!

Нравится Ответить

I'm in Austin and really hoping it doesn't get as bad as they "think" it is. I wasn't freaking out until I heard others are going and stocking up on water...now I feel as if I need too.

Нравится Ответить

My sister and a lot of my family are in Galveston surfside and Houston. We're in San Antonio now but all of my family stayed they are just taking shelter because no one has said to evacuate. I would have left already if I lived in surfside or Galveston. I think it's going more towards corpus. Houston will see lots of rain and wind. Here in San Antonio we're just expected to have tropical storm weather and lots of flooding. Everyone in Texas stay safe! But I'd say this if you're going to leave go now before the roads are ridiculously clogged

Нравится Ответить

I'm in central Texas but still in the path of the storm; it's not supposed to be as bad here but we have a "high possibility" of tropical storm level wind an rain. I'm not really sure what to expect because I'm from somewhere that doesn't storm. I have an aunt in Houston and a brother in San Antonio so I really hope they're okay because I know it's going to be a lot worse there ?

Нравится Ответить

My heart goes out to all of you ? I hope you all stay safe!! Please keep us updated. I've been watching the news coverage.

Нравится Ответить

I'm a nervous wreck. I agree I would head out if you don't feel safe even if it's not with family. Head to safe place to a hotel.

Нравится Ответить

I live in San Antonio, it's supposed to flood here ? but if your closer to the coast I say to head out, it's supposed to get really bad. Your kids are the most important thing to worry about

Нравится Ответить

My mom is in houston and both my brothers and grandparents and more family are in corpus! ??? praying for yall

Нравится Ответить

I'm in San Antonio and starting to freak out a bit. We're thinking of heading to Dallas and staying with some friends. This is crazy! The news just gets worse and worse and stores are out of bread, water, eggs and milk ? watching everyone else freak out is scaring me.

Нравится Ответить

If you are alone and that scared I would get in the car and drive. I'm in Houston and if I see it gets worse tomorrow I am leaving. SO doesn't think it's serious but I made him get everything ready for us just in case.

Storm chasers what ? that's awesome!!

They haven't told my town to evacuate if they did I wouldn't not think twice. Im just nervous only being 45 mins away from Houston.

Нравится Ответить

I'm 2 hrs North of Houston. I have family and friends there. My mom and brothers are two hours south of corpus and also have family in corpus.... I'm right there with you I'm worried.

Нравится Ответить

If they are telling you that you need to evacuate, please leave. Lot's of people will be missing school, that doesn't matter. Your safety and your children's do. I'm not in Texas so I can't speak from experience but I would leave if I thought it was going to be a bad outcome.

I mean idk if I'm in the direct path but I'm 45 minutes from Houston which is supposed to take a good hit

Нравится Ответить

Your family's safety is more important than a few days of school. If you are in the path and are concerned, maybe it would be wise to take the drive. I don't live in an area that gets hurricanes but I know I would be scared.

Ive moved around a lot but lived in Texas the majority of my life. My parents were storm chasers growing up so I've been in so many hurricanes I've just never been alone. I've never had kids in a storm.

Нравится Ответить

Have you always lived in Texas? I'm from Houston originally and have seen some pretty terrible storms. Just listen to the news, if they say evacuate please do that. I'm sorry you're afraid I know I would be too☹️
