@lexirosex3 That is great he's getting more help, its good there is a teacher helping him because I had struggled for so long without help and I hate seeing other kids going through the same problems, and I didn't have speech classes but my little brother did he was considered deaf he had impaired hearing, and luckily my brother no longer has that issues after getting his tonsils and adenoids removed he had alot of issues with strep throat, and ear infections when he was little so now his hearing is great, and his speech is great after taking speech for a year or two, and I hope he does better learning new things because I know how hard it is from personal experience, and hopefully he won't have to be pulled out because it is pretty difficult to make friends but they have home school play dates for home school children if he ever does get home schooled

@amberjacq, yeah, he definitely has that problem with being easily distracted and what you're saying totally relates to what he's going through. Right now he's doing better in this school and he's happy there's a teacher that's working with him and two more students that need extra help and one on one and he's been doing better because I told them since the first day he started that he needs extra help and more one on one and that he gets easily distracted ETC.. so he's been doing better. Hoping he passes and learns more if not I'll have to take him out and get him home schooled. He's also taking speech classes every Tuesday morning.

Me personally I have learning disabilities and I tried hard in school the whole time in school and still wasn't happy with my grades I was held back in first grade myself and I didn't understand a word the teacher was saying the entire time when I was in school and even as I got older I still had a difficult time understanding what teachers were talking about in class, and people thought I wasn't trying either but I worked really hard just to make b's and c's, and maybe an A- from time to time I was barley passing my classes and then finally my mom pulled me out in 6th grade and put me in a private Christian school, and I made A's and B's, and did a whole lot better, and then I went back to public school and started failing again, and the problem was I couldn't understand what the teacher was saying, and I didn't get enough one on one time, and I didn't get enough help, and there is too many distractions in class because too many kids in the class room, and then my mom pulled me out again, and home schooled me through a Christian school, and I started passing again with A's, and B's again so maybe he's not the problem here maybe its not enough one on one time, and not enough help, and too many kids around him

I know your frustrations I was born an raised in Philly my daughter attended two school out there and two out here she is in her 4 school and we love this one both my kids do I love were I'm from but I'm happy I had the opportunity to move somewhere better @lexirosex3

I agree with the ladies what school is he in and have you contacted the school bored of Philadelphia I was going through problems with my 8 year old who is in 2 ND grade and let me tell. you I absolutely refused for them to fail my son I went as far as home schooling him in 2ND marking period now he is back in school he better and has an intensive education plan in place for next year that will follow him through out his school year and will be adjusted for him as he grows up don't give up love..@lexirosex3,

u see that happened wit my son she used to yell.. and treat him like he was different and was always isolating him. once the teacher does that the kid falls behind its not fair for him to fail becauze of her !! sooo.. i suggest u pull him out of that school asap. schools already over so it kind of sucks.. u guys only have a month left til summer. but hopefully u can make a difference soon for his sake. i wish u luck hun

your welcome. Super attendance office it is then. I hope your son gets the help he needs. my son is in speech and in another program for 8 hours a week to help him. So I know if his teachers were not willing to help I would be all over their asses.

I would be going in there and talking to the principal about this. if he does indeed have a speech problem and learning disability then they need to evaluate him and put him in the classroom that will help him. if the principal doesnt so anything then go to the super attendances about it.

@mommydiva16, my son doesn't like his teacher at all.. He's only been in that school for 3 months and he hates it he really liked the school in Allentown but I had no choice but to move and this teacher shows no effort or care for helping him

@tiffrae, no he's not, I've brought it to the teachers attention when he started in her class 3 months ago and she has yet to even do anything about it all she said was she's going to fail him this year because he's too far behind.

i went through this in the beginning of the yr wit my son. hes also in the first grade. BUT...i noticed he was not trying to learn and didnt like class. and i started to realize that isnt how he is. i started to notice he didnt like the teacher. once they dont like the teacher or something is wrong in class theu refuse to work. i switched him in feb since she told me he was promotion in doubt. hes in a new school and is getting 90s and 100s.
