What can I do to help increase my milk supply? 2 weeks post partum and my milk is lessening that it was. Before hand I was able to pump 2 2 oz bottles off each breast. Now I'm lucky if I can fill an entire bottle. Hand express and warm express isn't helping at all.

ugh these comments...

ahem..

.5 to 1.5 Oz is completely normal for the first few weeks sweet pea. breast milk is all supply and demand.. the more you pump the more your body produces.. ideal times to pump would be 12 to 5am bc that's when your prolactin is the highest and when your milk is the best. Drink at least 4 bottles of water a day and even while you pump... if you aren't hydrated then you won't produce.

key foods for increased supply: steel cut oats , brewers yeast, and flax seed. you can get the yeast off amazon and the rest at walmart. also nuts.. almond & cashew. Apricots too... cows milk.

things that can fight your supply are caffeine, alcohol, STRESS, not eating.

love you nookums. I'm in boxing you my number in case you need to reach me for anything bc I'm not always on here @xbbycolletto

@xbbycolletto, then I'd use a blanket that he used for his sent. and the fact he was in the nicu could be another reason your having problems

Some woman don't take well to pumping, it may not be your milk supply! If your baby is drinking (can hear them swallow) for 10-20 minutes, and is gaining weight don't get discouraged. Your milk will also balance out after awhile, your milk supply will accommodate your baby's needs! Keep up the good work mommy, you're giving your baby more than you'll ever know!

my son won't do to skin to skin. when he was born he was taken to NICU and was there for an entire week immediately so he gets fussy if I try to do skin to skin with him. @aphrodite2014

I've never heard of that. Engorgement is when you dont pump or are producing so much the baby doesnt drink it all... Power pumping is to help increase and when your mill suppy catches up just pump normally.

@xbbycolletto, try to do some skin to skin while pumping.. and make sure your pumping every time that he feeds even if you only get a little bit out you have to make sure your breast know it's going to be required to make more.

@hhmariah, I was told power pumping would lead to engorgement and then it could lead to worse from there on out.

@aphrodite2014, until a lactation consultant can get with me. yes I'm pumping and formula feeding. my son gets fussy when. I try to breast feed him. he won't latch AT all even if I use a nipple shield.

Try Fenugreek capsules, hot cocoa, oatmeal, flax seeds, lactation cookies, let baby use you as a paci, rub the breasts, nipple stimulation, power pumping, lots and lots of water!! the list just goes on lol but those ones really helped mine.

Make sure you keep up on your water intake. There are foods too that can help. And the more you nurse/pump, the bigger your supply will get. Don't get discouraged :) hang on and I'll find you a list of those foods.

HELP!! last time I breast fed was when my baby was about 2 months old and my milk supply is basically almost gone now. I didn't pump or hand express ever since and all I get is a very very low amount of milk that comes out. when I try to hand express not even a single drop comes out. the milk is barely even there! Is there a way I can get my milk going again? can pumping help increase it once again? I'm really desperate!! 😰

is it wrong to be frustrated that my daughter acts like she can't do certain things with out my help. she plays dumb a lot and I wish I could be like no girl show what you know. she acts like she can't trace or match shapes so shes ask for "mommy finger" to help her so I barely hold her hand and she magically can do it but if I dont hold her hand she just scribbles and acts like she doesnt know the pic is how she traces when I'm "helping her" otherwise it'll just be scribbles all over the page
