a lotus birth in a birthing pool. lotus being where the placenta in left connected to baby until all the blood is drained into baby. has a ton of benefits. the water birth makes it less stressful for mom and baby.

basically you leave the placenta attached until it naturally falls off. if. I can't do lotus I will do delayed cord clamping and eat the placenta by encapsulation or just frying it.

yeah. it has risks and benefits. the benefits include letting all the blood flow into baby for immunities. risks include possible infection from the placenta decaying and still being attached to baby. so we may do delayed cord clamping and encapsulation if we feel the risk is far too great for our daughter.

usually the placenta detaches after three days. can take up to ten in humid climates. as for eating it, any way you prefer as long as its cooked through like any animals organ meat. or you can dehydrate it and encapsulate it and take it as a daily supplement.
