My daughter is 4 days old and she is not latching at all or even trying to ughhhh!!! so I just been pumping my milk and bottle feeding it to her!! I need HELP HOW DO I GET HER TO LATCH ON?? FTM
OK @sev1226 thank you for the advice and I will try that if she stops fighting me with her hands!!! I been rubbing my nipple on her nose so she can understand but she being stubborn lol
It's because you introduced her to the bottle too early... Keep putting her on your nipples and don't give in to the bottle... Expressing a little milk into her lips so she understands
@newmommysoon21, and you are all the way up north lol. I found a video on youtube a long time ago it helped me. when I find it I will send you the link. Does she sleep with you? I found it easier to lay down and nurse at night. I didn't have to get up out the bed lol. some moms are not comfortable but it helped me.
awwwwww thanks girl this really helps!! she's only 4 days old and I want to cry already and give up because this shit is so hard and I don't have no one to teach me my hubby don't know about breastfeeding lol so there's no help there @auburnmom2 😢😢😢
They will fight you lol it takes time and practice. you can pump for a min to pull your nipples our more and then latch too. also try pointing your nipple up then latching. ugh I wish I was there to show you. I was about to give up for months ago. I'm glad I didn't. you can do it mama!
@jheyer1109, my daughters always just blocks my greats and puts her hands in her mouth or try to fight me.. but as soon as I put the bottle in her mouth she opens up wide
so just water and regular white sugar right @adrenalizee_me because I really want her to take the breast
Or you can buy a nipple shield and try that. My son took weeks to latch on right. Start with the bottle and feed her for a few minutes and than try to hook her on the boob. My son would just get so excited and over worked that he wouldn't latch on. Once I got a little in his belly he claimed down and would latch on
Ya see what Happens if you get the milk flowing for her. Good luck!
