This question is only for MOMS W/ EXPERIENCE. not for women who think they know the answer. Okay, so I'm set to be inducted at 39 weeks. Which would be Sunday, also this years Easter. therefore my obgyn doesn't wanna do it that day and wants to wait till Monday. Do you think if I ask her to do it Saturday instead she will? I'd be 38 weeks 6 days. I want it done Saturday because my family will be in town Sunday so they could meet the baby. If we wait till Monday, they will have already left town.
Saturday can lead into Sunday so idk depending on baby. I got induced twice. my first was about 12 hrs and my second I went in 4am and I wanna say I had him around 9pm so just depending on what time the hospital has an opening you may get lucky!
yes she probably would but most likely the reason she doesn't want to do it on easter is bc they like to short staff nurses on holidays so that the nurses can spend time with their families too so with that being said I don't know if she would do it the day before either bc you could still deliver on the holiday. I asked to be induced on the 4th of July which is my husband's favorite holiday but my Dr said they can't do voluntary induction on holidays.
I started pitocin at 6 am and baby didn't arrive till 10:21 that night, if you can try for Friday just to be safe but everyone's different:) @rachelhoffmans
I was induced first time 39 weeks and like 3 days doctors choice and I ended up with c section so second time around also had scheduled c section after 39 weeks. some ob will work with you give or take a few days but 9/10 they will not do before 39 weeks unless medically necessary. hope everything goes well hun.
depends on if the baby is stressed and how far down the head is. I had issues and asked for a c section at that point and they said I was too far to get a c section. best of luck to you
I know I think that if they did it midnight Saturday he'd be here before Sunday though. @chewy1228 normally if it goes much longer than that they'll wanna do a c section.
It's hard to say. if your induced Saturday there's no guarantee you'll have it that day. I got induced. was in labor for 26 hours then had my baby.
I understand i wasn't trying to be rude either sorry if it came off that way
Thank you. Wasn't trying to be rude I'm just in pain and very stressed. @belles_mom428
well no one can tell you but your doctor but hope everything works out the way you want it
I'm in a terrible mood today so sorry if this comes off as bitchy but if you just read the comments I literally said "moms with experience or open minded moms" @belles_mom428
it really depends on your ob. I was due xmas day and asked if I could be induced the next week and she wanted to wait till after the new years was over, she made me wait till the 3rd! hopefully yours Is more understanding :)
I was 38 weeks when I was induced, I had all control over everything, I didn't ask to wait to do it a different day but I did ask for them not to start the pitocin until my husband got to the hospital, it took him three hours (he was in the Army and training) but they did it for me. if you explain the situation I'm sure they will do it but also if they have room that day in Labor and Delivery @rachelhoffmans
you don't really have to have experience to answer this question even women who have been induced can't really answer this for you all obs are different all cuz one ob would be willing to do it a day earlier doesn't mean a different ob will all you can do is ask your doctor
Not when he measures 2 weeks ahead. Like I said, this post is for moms w experience w the situation or who are open minded to the situation. @kimberlyyyy
And that's one day longer your baby's brain and lungs need to mature in utero.
@rachelhoffmans, my doctors have always been great with working with me!!
And yeah idk my grandpa is dying of cancer so they might work with my schedule ya know. @kimberlyyyy
I don't think they'll electively induce you to work with your schedule before 39 weeks.
Do you think she will let me do that since I'm not supposed to till 39 weeks and that would be 2 days before 39 weeks? @pixiestix
I think it may depend on when you start, I got induced with my first and it took from 4 am until 4:23 pm for her to arrive but I wasn't dilated at all when we started.
