I am looking for ways to dry up my supply. My baby is about to hit four months and there has been nothing but blood (literally), sweat and tears. I have made the absolute heartbreaking decision to quit. I just can't do it anymore. What are some ways you mamas tried to help with the engorgement when trying to dry up? I am not looking for judgement. I have had a very difficult time with breastfeeding and feel it's time for me just to enjoy my daughter.
I would take a warm shower and just with my hands squeeze on my boobs till I feel comfortable and won't hurt and in like a couple days I didn't have milk anymore
@their.bomb.ass.mom, I heard the cabbage leaf theory too. I heard putting in your bra. But someone I spoke to said to eat cabbage. She said she ate it till she was sick and it worked! I don't know if I wanna go that route! Thanks for your response 😊
also I was told not to express any milk as this will make your body produce more.
for both babies I have worn a tight sports bra with breast pads to help any leaking and took ibuprofen every 4 hours. any anti inflammatory type medication will do it though. took a few days, but with my first it dried up in about 4-5 days, I'm still in the process of drying it up this time. I've heard cabbage leaves help too? may have to Google that one I haven't tried it.
same here. my breasts were engorged! I would leak, and I'd massage the lumps down every few hours. get in a warm shower and just let the milk leak. I stopped feeding cold turkey. it took about 3 days to get my breasts back to normal. and to this day, I still have milk. small supply but it's still there
