My birth story: extremely long and for that I am sorry.

I had been having contractions for weeks but they weren't dilating me (probably because my uterus is tired from having so many babies back to back) I finally made it to 4cm at 40 weeks and at my last appt on FrIday the 4th, I had already made up my mind that I would be inducing that day with cytotec and my OB told me do not go anywhere, but to the hospital so you can have this baby.

So we headed over to the hospital (my hubby, mom and I along with our 3 kiddos) my sister came and picked them up. We didn't get started with the induction till about 1pm they had to monitor me before they could start. You could see that I was having contractions every 3-4 minutes but they did not dilate me at all.

I took the cytotec at 2pm, it takes about 30-45 minutes to kick in. I started at 4cm and 75%, the contractions kicked in at about 2:40ish and by 4:30 I was 6cm. My nurse told me that my OB would come at 5-6pm to check me and break my water. All the sudden the contractions got more intense and I heard and felt a pop in my abdomen. I immediately asked my husband and mom if they heard that and they said no. I said my stomach just popped and thought well maybe its my water breaking so the nurse looked down there and saw blood, not like a bloody show though. She then checked me and said that it wasnt my water and that I was 7cm. They all said to stay calm and moved me to make me more comfortable and my nurse left to go get my OB to come earlier Im guessing. I felt another pop and said wtf was that and told them I felt another pop and then they saw 3 huge blood clots the size of softballs or bigger fall out of me. I said wtf is that and my husband immediately ran and got my nurse and she came and quickly swooped it up said she would be back and took it out of the room.

Seconds later nurses started bringing in equipment to deliver the baby and my OB came, they put my feet in the stirrups he checked me and I was an 8 and 100% then he broke my water but nothing came out. Her head was blocking it so then he told me to push and I pushed 6 times (my hubby and mom told me, I thought it was 3-4 minutes probably cuz I've never pushed more than 3 lol) her head came out and then I pushed one more and the rest of her came out) and then my water came out after her.

My placenta had chunks missing from it and my hubby said it looked different than all of our other babies placentas. My OB said my umbilical cord was over 15ft long and then finished up getting everything out and gave me one stitch. Then my OB left and the nurses looked and noticed that I was hemorrhaging so they got my OB and he came and cleaned my uterus out again. Then he left and I started hemorrhaging again and the nurses gave me a catheter to see if it was because I had a full bladder and that wasn't it. So then they had to go get my OB again and he literally scraped the crap outta my uterus because it was filling up with a ton of blood and clots to the point I was screaming and yelling oww that really f'ing hurts can I have some pain meds and they said I would have to wait. Finally my OB got it under control by upping my pitocin and cytotec doses. This was all done while my daughter was laying on my chest and she was being checked by her nurse.

I literally don't know how I didn't pass out but I was shaking sooo bad because it was excruciatingly painful. The nurse said that I was seconds away from needing emergency surgery if they couldn't get the bleeding to stop. I am extremely thankful that God gave my OB the ability to handle that situation and that it wasn't as bad as it could have been. All worth it for my precious Maeli, but ohh my gosh I will not be having another baby for at least 3 years.

Maeli Ella born on 3.4.16 @ 5:38pm weighing 10lb 6.2oz and 21 and 1/2 in long. Completely natural besides the one cytotec. We are all so in love with her.
