Everyone meet Athena Carrie Heie-Cummins. I came into the hospital to get induced at 8 am and was 4-5 centimeters. Got started on the pitocin around 8:30. Contractions were tolerable. Then around 1 they broke my water. Contractions became miserable! They were barely a minute apart and truly excruciating haha. So after an hour and a half of powering through them, I decided to get the epidural. Best relief ever. After that, it was a breeze. I started dilating very fast. I was happy and completely present. Finally around 445, they checked for dilation and the babies head was pretty much right there! Waited a bit for my doctor to come, then pushed for about twenty minutes and at 5:34 pm she was born. I'm so in love.
